Jayne came into the programme with a very busy lifestyle. She travels frequently, has a full family and social life, and regularly spends time entertaining and looking after her grandchildren. Despite some particularly challenging circumstances during her 12 weeks, Jane managed to lose an impressive 10 lbs, while also reporting a significant improvement in her energy levels.
At the start of the programme, Jane had fallen into a pattern of yo-yo dieting. Her overall nutrition lacked structure, and she wasn’t consuming enough protein or fibre to adequately support her health, energy levels or body-composition goals. She was also showing signs of insulin resistance, so improving the quality, balance and consistency of her diet became a key priority.
We completely revamped Jane’s nutrition, moving her towards three structured meals per day, each centred around good-quality protein, plenty of fibre, moderate amounts of healthy fats and controlled carbohydrate intake. The aim was not simply to reduce calories, but to create a way of eating that better supported her blood-sugar control, satiety and energy while still fitting around a very busy life.
As Jane progressed through the programme, we adjusted her nutrition according to her results. Towards the latter part of the 12 weeks, we introduced both calorie cycling and macronutrient cycling to provide the additional fat-loss stimulus she needed without simply continuing to reduce her food intake.
The result was a 10 lb weight loss over 12 weeks, alongside better energy and, importantly, a much more structured and nutritionally balanced way of eating.
Considering just how much Jane had going on during these 12 weeks, this was an excellent result and a real testament to what can be achieved when nutrition is adapted to work around someone’s life rather than expecting their life to revolve around a diet. Well done Jayne ❤️
