Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of enjoying the Badger Forest School Holiday Club at Cardinham Woods.

The children fully embraced the outdoors, having great fun on a slip and slide they created themselves, getting creative in the β€˜forest kitchen’, and even putting together their very own show. There were also plenty of colouring activities to spark their imaginations.

They enjoyed healthy snacks throughout the day and made the most of the beautiful natural surroundings, with constant smiles and laughter throughout the day.

We’re really looking forward to collaborating with Badger Forest School again over the summer holidays.

🌳 We had a fantastic session this week with the WILD Young Parents Project team at National Trust - Trelissick Gardens, in partnership with the National Trust.

β˜€ The children had so much fun in the sun exploring, then enjoying healthy snacks in that all important shade.

We had a lovely time at this week's Bodmin Way Community Health & Wellbeing Workers Drop-in at Kinsman Community Hub.

Despite the heat, families got stuck in at our Family Cook Up, where we made delicious fish cakes using tinned sardines 🐟

Sardines are a great choice for healthy, budget-friendly meals, and we shared a few reasons why:
βœ… Packed with nutrients – rich in protein, vitamin B12 and vitamin D
βœ… Great for bones – because we can eat the soft bones, they’re high in calcium
βœ… Heart-healthy – full of omega-3 fats, which support brain and heart health
βœ… Good value – much cheaper than other oily fish like salmon, but just as nutritious
βœ… Lower in contaminants – as smaller fish, they tend to contain fewer pollutants

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, learning new skills, and enjoying simple, affordable ways to eat well.

❀ Thank you to everyone who came along – we’re already looking forward to the next one!

Mel and Holly from our Workforce and Training team attended the annual The Two Bays Trust Big Blue Day at Trevathan Farm, Port Issac recently.

We offered free Blood Pressure checks and had some amazing conversations with so many people about wellbeing and the support we provide.

We also had the privilege of meeting comedian/presenter Sue Perkins and actor Nicola Walker (who was given a blood pressure check by the team)

The Two Bays Trust is a mental health and wellbeing charity that delivers conservation activities for the benefit of people and the environment. Thank you for inviting us to attend this amazing event. The weather forecast was not looking too good but as luck should have it, the weather dried and it was a great success.
