☀️ A Wonderful Afternoon Out at Newquay Boating Lake! ☀️

We had the absolute pleasure of taking our lovely residents out for a mini-adventure to Newquay Boating Lake recently.

Trips out like this are so important for our residents. Getting out into nature, changing the environment, and engaging in stimulating activities does absolute wonders for their well-being, and overall happiness.

The highlight of our afternoon was feeding the birds. While we were there, a kind stranger gifted us some proper bird feed. 🦆🦢 Thanks to their generosity, this added more fun to our experience! The pigeons came right up to us, eating out of our hands. Being so close to the wildlife brought a lot of joy, laughter, and chatter to our afternoon.

We are really looking forward to our next outing! 🚌❤️

🍪✨ A little paint, a lot of joy!
Last week our residents at Longview enjoyed a wonderful biscuit decorating session, and the smiles say it all.
Activities like this aren’t just fun… they bring real benefits:
Creativity & self-expression,
Fine motor skills, using gentle hand movements that keep fingers active
Connection & conversation, sharing ideas, laughing together, and making new memories
Mental stimulation – focusing on colours, patterns and design keeps the mind engaged.
Care is about more than just daily needs, it’s about living well, staying connected, and finding joy in the little things.
The creativity brightened the whole home 💛

🎶✨ What a joyful afternoon at Longview!
We were delighted to welcome Bilingual Sing who visited with some lovely local families and children.
Our residents had a wonderful time joining in with props for Incy Wincy Spider and The Rainbow Song — all sung in both English and Spanish! It was especially meaningful for those residents who have been learning Spanish, and the smiles (and singing!) said it all.
Thank you to Bilingual Sing and our wonderful young visitors for bringing so much energy, music and connection into our home. Moments like these are pure magic. 💛

🤠 What a day, Longview!

Our Country & Western Day was an absolute hit!
Live music filled the air, boots were stomping, and the smiles never stopped. From the first note to the last dance, y’all showed up and made it one for the books.
Huge thanks to our residents and staff team who kept the energy high, and everyone else that brought the classic East Texas spirit. 🤠
Seeing so many happy faces made it all worthwhile.
We’re already looking forward to the next one.
Until then… keep those boots polished! 🐎

Sunshine, smiles and ice cream! 🍦☀️

Our lovely residents had a wonderful afternoon out this week.
Andy took the wheel of the minibus and drove everyone to the beautiful Newquay boating lake for a gentle stroll, fresh air, and of course… ice creams!
Everyone loved every minute of the trip, including the views, the company, and those well-deserved treats.
Moments like these are what it’s all about.
Thank you to the whole team for making the day so special.
We are already planning our next trip.🚐

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Football’s not coming home this time….but it did come to Longview instead! ⚽

Even though the result didn’t go our way, the real victory was right here, with laughter, togetherness, and lots of fun in our home.

Football might not have come home… but the spirit of it definitely did. ❤️

(Just so you know: Football or adapted versions like seated football, are an excellent form of exercise for care home residents. It combines physical activity with fun, social interaction, and mental stimulation making it fun and super engaging.)

🌟 Team Update at Longview 🌟

It’s time to say a heartfelt “goodbye for now” to our wonderful Deputy Manager, Chloe! 💕

Chloe is heading off on maternity leave to welcome her new little one, and we couldn’t be happier for her.

Thank you for all your dedication, warmth, and outstanding leadership, you will be greatly missed, but we can’t wait to see you back with your second beautiful baby!

In the meantime, we’re delighted to welcome Becky, who will be covering as Deputy Manager. Becky brings a wealth of experience in care leadership. She is a nurse and has managed many homes herself. She has been working with Chloe for a few weeks now and she is already a fantastic addition to the team.

Residents and families can expect the same high standard of compassionate care we’re known for.

Please join us in wishing Chloe all the best and giving Becky a warm welcome!

🎉 Longview Care Homes Summer Fete – A Huge Success! 🎉
What an absolutely wonderful day we had at our Longview Summer Fete! ☀️
From the moment the clock struck 2pm, the atmosphere was filled with laughter, joy, and community spirit. Residents, families, staff, and local visitors came together to enjoy the delicious BBQ, brilliant tombola prizes, fantastic live music, fun games for all ages, and refreshing Pimms. The sun shone brightly on smiling faces all afternoon!
A massive thank you to everyone who attended, supported us, and helped make it such a special day. Particular thanks go to our incredible staff team who worked so hard behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly and that every resident had the best time possible.
Days like this remind us why we love being part of the Longview family. ❤️
