I have just taken the above named course (Basic Life Support) and I felt that I just had to mention how it went. I sometimes struggle on course but Sarah who was the trainer immediately put me at ease, thus reducing and anxiety. Although a very serious subject she kept interesting the whole way. Introducing a new theory and practical half day course for anyone who privately or professionally supports someone with a catheter or a stoma.
The course provides healthcare essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively provide catheter and stoma care. The course is designed for care homes or community settings and includes awareness level theory around caring for catheters and stomas.
The practical element includes changing and emptying catheter and stoma bags and a comprehensive competency assessment which offers auditable evidence for staff members and care providers.
Course contents:
