Since it's our birthday month (a while year of Acid Jungle, can you believe it?!) we thought it was about time for you to MEET THE JUNGLE CREW!

Over the next couple of weeks we will be posting individual profiles for all of our artists - but for now here's a little snapshot of the gang ❤️

Is it obvious that we all felt super uncomfortable having our pictures taken? And can you tell who was the least enthusiastic about the whole debacle? 👀

All that being said we did have a proper good laugh doing this, and we think the results are a fair representation of the general vibe here at Acid Jungle (please don't let that put you off - we are capable of NOT acting like silly billies ...probably). We did *try* to take it seriously, but in all honesty, sitting around posing and trying to look 'cool' is really REALLY not how we roll 😅

THANK YOU to each and every one of you who has come and got tattooed, popped in for a nose and a chat, brought us lovely gifts, shared our posts, left us glowing Google reviews and said lovely things about the space and the team and the decor - you honestly make all the hard work, sleepless nights and bad backs completely worth it and we couldn't be more grateful 🙏

IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY!

Yep, we can hardly believe it ourselves but Acid Jungle has been open now for an entire year! OK yes, we didn't finish the refurb till March, but we've been steadily building our team, our client base and our reputation for 12 whole months, and we think that's something worth celebrating (especially in these trying times).

We want to thank everyone who has supported us over the past year, so we've come up with some special offers that we hope you'll enjoy - valid for the week of 16th to 20th Sept. We also have discounts on lots of stuff in the shop from Magic to prints, and there are still some top prizes to win in our happy pill tombola!

Offer 1: buy one get one half price on all flash!
Terms: both pieces must be by the same artist and on the same person. If priced differently the discount will be applied to the cheapest design. Valid for pre booked appointments or walk-ins. Existing flash offers or discounts are excluded (ie bottomless tattoo sessions).

Offer 2: bring a friend along and you both get 20% off!
Terms: tattoos can be with different artists. Valid on advance bookings or walk-ins (must be taken on the same day). If booked in advance and one friend no-shows, the other friend's discount will be void. Can be used for flash or custom designs.

GENERAL TERMS:
These offers cannot be redeemed alongside other existing offers or discounts (such as NHS discount). Excludes existing bookings and apprentice rate tattoos. A deposit will be required to book in advance. For offer 2, friends must attend on the same day and discount will be void for both friends if one half cancels or no-shows.

It's the least we can do to say thank you to all the wonderful humans slaving away in a broken system during these trying times! Tattoos can be a kind of therapy for a lot of people, and lawd knows that NHS workers need to practice self-care given how demanding and often mentally, emotionally and physically challenging their jobs can be.

Simply mention when booking that you are an NHS worker and remember to bring in your staff ID when you come to your appointment - please note that only NHS staff cards will be accepted as proof for the discount, we do not accept blue light cards.

Hey gang! Just an update on our policy regarding the use of numbing cream for tattoo appointments:

We are not against the use of numbing cream BUT we do believe that it should be used as a last resort. We will ask you to attempt to get your tattoo without the use of numbing aids in the first instance, and if you really can't hack it even with all the other pain relief methods we can throw at you, then we can agree to its use for the next attempt.

WHY ARE WE SO STRICT ABOUT THIS?

Several reasons really, the first being the wildly varying quality of products available (not to mention the 'fake' versions that are out there). On a practical level, using numbing cream changes the way your skin behaves during a tattoo, making it much more difficult to get the ink into the right place. This can mean having to push it in more forcefully resulting in increased skin trauma and more difficult healing which is no fun for you. It can also alter the way ink settles and heals, leading to colours that don't heal to the desired tone and patchy black areas. Your artist will go through the possible effects and outcomes with you before starting work but it's important to modify your expectations and be prepared for touch-ups after healing.

WHICH PRODUCTS SHOULD YOU USE?

If we agree that you can use numbing cream, we will insist on you purchasing it directly from us (supplied by the excellent NUMB AS F*CK in the UK). This is so that we know you are using a high quality product that we can trust not to burn your skin off (seriously, look up what knock-off creams can do to you). It costs £10 a tube and this will suffice for one very large tattoo or several smaller ones.

PLEASE NOTE

If you arrive for your appointment having applied numbing cream without prior agreement, you will be turned away and lose your deposit. This is non-negotiable so please be sure to discuss your concerns with us before booking.

We are so excited to announce that Mikey Morgan - - will be joining us in August! He's down from the 5th to the 9th and covers a wide range of styles from black and grey realism to bold trad colour pieces.

Mikey is Manchester based and has been tattooing for just over a decade. He loves working in the moment and often draws on tattoos freehand, letting his imagination go wild. He also relishes a cover up and is pretty much up for anything - he'll be bringing a range of flash as well as a bunch of sharpies to create some inspired skin art for you guys!
