Another day of with our little girl amongst the . She absolutely loves it but we are very aware lavender can be toxic for cats if they digest it. As a precaution we always wipe her down with a damp cloth, which she seems to love too. 🤔

Our very first since planting our little field of over 500 up in beautiful . 💜

Everything has been done by hand, from shovelling tons of soil, sand and grit to planting each lavender. Admittedly it
took a few weeks, and yes I had moments of thinking what on earth are we doing, and surely we need a tractor or something, but nonetheless we persevered. I still think we might be a bit mad as we have yet to witness the harsh reality of Winter but hey ho, onwards and upwards we go.

So, where are we at now, well we are in the middle of , drying and stripping our lavenders. I won't lie it takes a huge amount of time doing it all by hand, but I love that it's all done authentically. Mind you, we've only done half the field so it might be a different story when we are finished. I think we need another sort of machine actually 😆 🚜

Anyway, for those who would like to purchase locally grown dried lavender for their projects, please get in touch directly . Our lavender would be ideal for makers and creators who wish to source grown produce.

The time has come to and dry our , initially taking two to three weeks and in small batches. You can obviously dry them out by hanging in small bunches and in a dark room, but we don't have the room for this so this is the process we are adopting for now.

I have to say it absolutely in our dining room right now. 😄💜🪻🪻🪻

Still planting 😅 but by the time we have finished we will have hand planted over 500 beautiful Hidcote here in beautiful . We ofcourse have quite a bit of planting to go but we think it's looking good so far. 💜🪻

At present we have stuck with the variety which tends to be quite hardy for the weather when it descends upon us in the winter months. Plus, they bloom beautifully once matured too.

It's finally happening, a wee lavender field being planted in the northeast of . It might seem a little crazy as it's not exactly the warmest climate but we're going to give it our best shot.

We have a vision to offer small seasonal garden days along with the opportunity to pick your own too. However, for now, we have to finish planting (lots of 😅), allow our lavenders to settle in and see how they get on during the winter season. All being well, we will be welcoming you to our lavender field next Summer 2027.

That's the first batch of Hidcote arrived and someone is setting the scene. ✌️😄

It's worth noting that lavenders in bloom can be very toxic for cats, mainly if they nibble the flowers or brush up against them. Most cats tend to stay away from them though.

Let's get planting. 🪏😄🪻💜
