Your ankles play a vital role in almost every step you take. Good ankle mobility helps you walk efficiently, climb stairs, maintain balance and reduce the strain on your knees and hips. But flexibility alone isn't enough.

In warmer weather, our muscles and joints often feel looser, making it easy to move further than usual. That's why it's so important to build strength alongside flexibility, helping your ankles stay stable and reducing the risk of sprains or strains.

✨ Try this simple exercise:
Stand on one leg for 30 seconds (hold onto a chair if needed), then progress to slowly rising up onto your toes and lowering back down 10–15 times. Repeat on both sides. This helps improve balance, strengthens the muscles supporting the ankle, and builds confidence for everyday movement.

Healthy ankles support healthy movement from the ground up! If you're experiencing ankle pain, stiffness or repeated sprains, an osteopath can help assess the underlying cause and get you moving comfortably again.

🍓🥬 A little hot weather nutrition hack...

Fruit salads are always a winner (making this arrangement gets the family thinking its a special treat), but one of my favourite ways to serve fruit is as a smoothie. Blending gives you the perfect opportunity to sneak in some leafy greens, such as spinach, without the kids even noticing! Adding yoghurt or a handful of nuts also helps create a more balanced snack, providing protein and healthy fats alongside the natural carbohydrates in the fruit, helping to keep blood sugar levels steadier.

And for an extra summer treat? Turn your smoothies into homemade ice lollies! ☀️🍦

They've been hugely popular in our house and are a great way to use up surplus fruit. Current favourites are rhubarb and yoghurt, with a few hidden green leaves added for good measure. Plus, if the fruit is starting to look a little past its best, blending and freezing it means nothing goes to waste.

What's your favourite smoothie combination? 🍓🫐🥭

🦵 Are your knees trying to tell you something?

Knee pain isn't always caused by a problem in the knee itself. The way your feet, ankles, hips, pelvis, and even your lower back move can all affect the forces travelling through the knee joint.

Osteopathy takes a whole-body approach, looking at how you move and identifying areas of tension, weakness, or restriction that may be contributing to your symptoms. Whether you're struggling with aches on the stairs, discomfort when walking, or stiffness after exercise, treatment aims to help improve mobility, reduce strain, and support your body's natural ability to recover.

Don't ignore persistent knee pain – sometimes the key to happier knees lies elsewhere in the body.

From our lovely Acupuncturist Angelina He....

No matter what happens during perimenopause… no matter how scared you feel… no matter how many times you cry alone.

You are not broken. You are not weak. You are not alone.

This season takes strength. More than you know.
So believe in yourself. Even on the hard days. Especially on the hard days.

I'm here. We're here. You don't have to whisper anymore. 💛

Losing a parent can feel like losing a part of your history, your anchor, or the person who always knew you best.

But when you're also juggling children, school runs, work, meals, and the endless demands of family life, grief rarely gets the space it deserves. Often, we find ourselves carrying on because we have to, putting everyone else's needs first while quietly carrying our own sadness.

There is no right way to grieve. Sometimes it looks like tears, sometimes exhaustion, sometimes laughter at an old memory, and sometimes simply taking five quiet minutes for yourself.

If you've lost a parent, be gentle with yourself. Grief doesn't follow a timetable, and even in the busiest seasons of life, it's important to make space to acknowledge what you've lost and honour the person you miss. ❤️

We have professionals who can help you navigate life changes such as bereavement.

Sometimes the gentlest treatments can have the biggest impact ✨

Cranial osteopathy uses subtle, hands-on techniques to help release tension, support relaxation, and encourage the body’s natural ability to rebalance and heal. Many people find it deeply calming and beneficial for stress, headaches, tension, sleep, and overall wellbeing. 💆‍♀️🌿

Taking time to slow down and reconnect with your body is never wasted time.

Let gentle hands and quiet space
Unwind the tension life can place.
With every touch, let worries stray,
As stress and cares just melt away.

Breathe deeply in, release the day,
And let calm carry you softly away.

Harj says....."I visited Andrew a few months ago and I cannot recommend him enough. I've had an ongoing issue with my back for a long time and within 2 sessions he had solved everything wrong with me. I felt like a new person with a new spine. He was incredibly detailed with his diagnosis of my problem and what the remedy would be. By the time I went back, he informed me that I no longer required anymore work on my back. To take a moment and truly helpful yourself in any healing journey, please take a moment to come here."

Aloe vera is a really useful plant to have in your home - mine sits on the bathroom windowsill enjoying the humidity from showers etc (if your windowsill is in full sunlit then move your plant somewhere less bright). When one of the family gets a small burn or has been out in the sun too much, I just snap off the end of a leave and use the viscous liquid to pat gently over the burn.

Luckily these plants are very tolerant of being ignored (they do not like over watering so my general lack of care suits them 😮)!

Aloe Vera has been used for centuries to help soothe minor burns, sunburn, and irritated skin thanks to its naturally cooling and hydrating properties. It is a gorgeous plant to keep at home - both for its looks and its many uses. 💚
