🦵 Knee or leg pain slowing you down?

Whether it’s a niggling ache, stiffness when getting up, discomfort when walking or pain that’s stopping you doing the things you enjoy, osteopathy may be able to help.

Osteopaths take the time to look at how your whole body is moving and functioning. Sometimes pain in the knee or leg isn't just about the area that hurts – it can be influenced by the feet, hips, pelvis or lower back too.

Using gentle, hands-on techniques alongside advice and exercises where appropriate, osteopathic treatment aims to improve movement, reduce discomfort and help you get back to doing more of what you love.

You don't have to simply put up with those aches and pains. 💚

Integrative Health Consultation with Claire MacDonald

A whole-person approach to health, wellbeing and recovery.
Health is rarely as simple as treating one symptom. Whether you’re struggling with ongoing pain, digestive issues, fatigue, hormonal changes, stress, or simply don’t feel like yourself, there are often many factors contributing to how you feel.

My Integrative Health Consultations combine over 25 years of clinical experience as an Osteopath, alongside my qualifications in Nutritional Therapy and Homeopathy, to help uncover the bigger picture behind your health concerns.

These 60-minute consultations are available in person at The Maris Practice or online, making them accessible wherever you are.

What can an Integrative Health Consultation help with?
- Persistent aches and pains
- Fatigue and low energy
- Digestive concerns
- Hormonal or menopausal symptoms
- Stress and anxiety
- Recurrent illness
- Recovery after injury or illness
- General health optimisation and wellbeing

Rather than focusing on one symptom in isolation, we’ll explore how different aspects of your health interact, helping us identify areas that may be supporting – or hindering – your recovery.

Meet Lesley - Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology & Somatic Bodywork.

Lesley is offering 30% off first sessions for Maris Practice clients throughout August 2026.

We’re delighted to welcome Lesley to the clinic, bringing over 35 years of experience in craniosacral therapy, reflexology, somatic bodywork, and breathwork -alongside ongoing training in counselling. Her work centres on the nervous system: how it holds stress, trauma, and emotion within the body, and how gentle, attuned touch can support it back toward regulation and ease.

From anxiety and headaches to fertility support and birth preparation, her sessions work with the nervous system directly rather than just addressing symptoms in isolation. She has a particular focus on trauma-informed care, neurodivergent-friendly sessions, and support through pregnancy, alongside more general work with tension and stress.

Behind every health video... there are plenty of bloopers! 😂

As osteopaths, we're passionate about helping you understand your body and sharing simple tips to help you move and feel better. But sometimes the outtakes are just as entertaining as the finished video!

From forgotten lines and unexpected laughter to those moments when the words just won't come, here's a little behind-the-scenes glimpse of what really happens when we're filming.

We hope it brings a smile to your day! 😊

(And don't worry... we promise we're much better at treating patients than remembering our script! 😉)

“There’s nothing wrong with you.”

Then why do you still feel like crap?

Full article on our website.

Have you ever been told your blood tests are "normal", your scan is clear, or that there's nothing medically wrong - yet you still feel exhausted, foggy, achy or just not quite yourself?

While it's reassuring that serious conditions have been ruled out, it doesn't mean your symptoms aren't real.

Your body is always communicating with you. Low energy, poor sleep, persistent aches, digestive issues or feeling overwhelmed aren't simply things to ignore because your tests came back normal. They're signals worth exploring.

You know your body better than anyone. If something doesn't feel right, it's worth listening.

What if joy isn't something we stumble across... but something we intentionally collect?

So often we're waiting for the "big" moments—a holiday, a promotion, a celebration—to feel happy. But real joy is usually much quieter. It's the warmth of the sun on your face, a conversation that makes you laugh, the smell of fresh coffee, spotting a kingfisher on a walk, or taking a deep breath and realising, for just a moment, everything feels okay.

The challenge is that many of us rush past these moments without really noticing them.

This week, give yourself permission to pause and collect your joy. Savour the little things. Let yourself smile without feeling you have to earn it. The more we notice these moments, the more they begin to shape how we experience each day.

What's one small moment of joy you've experienced today? We'd love to hear it in the comments. 💚

Could acupuncture help you?

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to support health and wellbeing. Today, many people choose it to help with a wide range of concerns, including persistent aches and pains, headaches, stress, poor sleep, and overall wellbeing.

Treatment involves the gentle insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body. Many people find sessions deeply relaxing, often leaving feeling calmer, more balanced, and with a greater sense of wellbeing.

Whether you're looking for support with pain, managing stress, or simply taking time to care for yourself, acupuncture offers a gentle, holistic approach tailored to your individual needs.

If you're curious about whether acupuncture could be right for you, we'd be happy to answer your questions.

🌸 Women's hormones don't just affect your menstrual cycle.

They influence your energy, mood, sleep, metabolism, fertility, and overall wellbeing. From puberty and pregnancy to perimenopause and menopause, hormonal changes are a natural part of life - but that doesn't mean you have to simply "put up with" the symptoms.

If you're experiencing irregular periods, PMS, hot flushes, mood changes, fatigue, poor sleep or simply don't feel like yourself, it's worth listening to what your body is telling you.

At The Maris Practice, our team offers a range of complementary therapies that can help support women through every stage of life. By taking a whole-person approach, we work with you to understand your symptoms and create a personalised plan to support your health and wellbeing.

You deserve to feel heard, supported and empowered - not told that your symptoms are "just part of being a woman." 💚

Natural Facial Rejuvenation starts from within.

Our faces hold more tension than we often realise. Stress, jaw clenching, frowning, and long hours at a screen can all leave the muscles of the face feeling tight, contributing to headaches, jaw discomfort and the appearance of fine lines.

Natural Facial Rejuvenation is a gentle, hands-on treatment that helps release this tension, encouraging relaxation, improving circulation and supporting the body's natural healing processes. The result isn't about changing the way you look—it's about helping you look and feel more relaxed, refreshed and balanced.

When the muscles soften, the face often follows. ✨
