Saturday was spent surrounded by some of the most inspiring clinicians, business owners and industry leaders at the Clinician to CEO event hosted by The Nursing Network.

As a clinician first, I never underestimate the value of learning, but the power of networking, sharing experiences and connecting with like-minded professionals is what truly enriches me. Every conversation, challenge and success story helps me grow into a better businesswoman, leader and clinician for my patients.

These before and afters are extra special.

My lovely patient came to me after having lip filler for many years and feeling unhappy with how her lips looked. Rather than continuing to add more product, she made the brave decision to dissolve everything and start again from a clean slate.

📢 HCPC Update on Advanced Levels of Practice

The HCPC has published an important clarification regarding Advanced Levels of Practice and what this means for registrants working across healthcare settings, including aesthetics.

The update does not create a new HCPC registration category or formally recognise specific advanced practitioner titles. Instead, it reinforces that all HCPC registrants are personally accountable for ensuring they work within their individual scope of practice and can demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills, training, experience, and governance to undertake the work they perform.

Key messages include:

✔️ Practise within your individual scope of practice
✔️ Ensure you have the appropriate education, training and experience for the procedures you undertake
✔️ Maintain ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
✔️ Deliver safe, effective and evidence-based patient care
✔️ Be able to justify and evidence your competence when working at an advanced level

For Allied Health Professionals working in aesthetics, this clarification further emphasises the importance of professional accountability, clinical governance, patient safety, and maintaining robust standards of practice.

The responsibility sits with each registrant to ensure they are competent, appropriately trained, and able to evidence their decision-making when undertaking advanced procedures.

Confidence as an injector doesn’t come from thinking you know everything… it comes from never being afraid to keep learning.

Some of the biggest inspirations in my aesthetics journey have been Miranda Pearce and Kate Monteith-Ross. Watching, learning and growing alongside incredible women like these reminds me how important mentorship, education and community truly are in this industry.
