Pathak Yoga

Pathak Yoga Pathak Yoga is a young, dynamic company that specialises in Office Yoga. We teach you there - right Well, not with us! We can even get you fit in 10 minutes!

Today’s working world is busy and hectic for everyone, be it down to work load, urgent and conflicting deadlines, challenging colleagues or clients, frequent travel, uncomfortable chairs, irritating commutes, combining work and family – you name it: the list is endless. In today’s world, even evenings at home or out with friends can seem stressful, and it’s hard to find the time or the discipline

to do any exercise at all. And if you do find time, it will often be cardio-based workouts because everyone is trying to get fitter, and doing yoga seems like the lazy way out. We will make sure your yoga lesson is a workout, too, but without giving you the stress to the joints of 30 minutes on a treadmill. Whether it's our after work classes, lunch time classes, or any of our health and safety focused chair, desk or "standing yoga" sessions, we can guarantee you'll feel refreshed and much healthier afterwards.

Isn’t this stunning? 😍

It reminded me that rest and restoration don’t always look like sitting still with your eyes closed.

There’s a concept in psychology called soft fascination - the kind of gentle attention we give to things like moving water, rustling leaves, clouds drifting across the sky . It’s attention without effort. The mind is lightly engaged, but not strained. And in that space, we recover. 🌼

We often hear that “science says” certain things help us regulate - long exhales to calm the nervous system, classical music to lower blood pressure, structured meditation practices to reduce stress.

And while that’s true for many people, it’s not universal. 🤔

If long, controlled breathing leaves you feeling more anxious, or if classical music makes you stress rather than relax, why do it anyway?

Everybody and every body is different. So rather than forcing yourself into what should feel calming, notice what actually does.

For me, sometimes it’s a hike like this - seeing green always does it for me. That’s why I love golf too.

Find your version of that. And trust it. 🥰

Bhramari Pranayama - as simple as it is profound in its effect on the nervous system ✨

We use sound, breath and a focus on our inner landscape to create a steady wave of vibration through the body.

Benefits you may get:
🌀 Increased vagal tone & parasympathetic activation
🌀 Higher nitric oxide production to support circulation & (sinus) health
🌀 May help reduce pain sensitivity by calming nervous system reactivity
🌀 Reduced stress, anxiety & mental agitation
🌀 Improved focus and sensory withdrawal (a great practice for pratyahara)
🌀 Regulation of breath rhythm & heart rate variability
🌀 Soothing tension in the face, jaw & throat
🌀 Better sleep and emotional balance
🌀 A meditative state that arrives naturally through vibration

Just breathe.

It’s free.

It calms you.

It doesn’t take long.

Breathwork’s Humming Breath is a dumb imitation of Bhramari Pranayama. If you steal, at least to it right 😩

Here’s an asana (we’re moving so if you prefer vinyasa this is for you) which will help you balance the flow of your energy and hormones.

I feel we shouldn’t really talk about stress hormones because the body is too complex for this, and also because it sounds like there’s something wrong with these hormones that are actually very helpful and necessary.

Dharmic traditions are not about eradication of chaos, Assuras, “evil”, they’re about balance. So let’s balance rather than nahe stress our enemy.
