Good luck to for their vs

Let’s go lads you deserve to be there - go for it 💪

Great memories of being in the same semifinal 10 years ago now 😅🫣

That time the game ended 22-12 to a very strong team full of internationals 🇿🇦🇫🇷

Will be a different result this time - 🐉 dragons are on great form 💪

On a plane tomorrow while the game is on so will see the result when I land 👍

🐉💪💪💪💪

Best of luck

🫶❤️ Appreciation Post

Thank you for all the messages of support from around the world regards the release of my new book ‘ Rugby Injury Prevention and Return to Play ‘ and thank you for the feedback 🙌🫶

The book was built from the research and my 20 + years experience to help reduce injuries and improve rehab for grassroots rugby players , coaches and therapists / medics working in Rugby Union.

It started as a lockdown project , and then it took a back step when I started working back in international rugby during the covid bubble period 🫣

Many highs and lows along the way but we got there in the end with a tough final push over the last year 😅

I hope you find it useful

250 sold today , it’s early days, but I a happy with the response

Built from the heart - always been here to help reduce rugby injury risk and improve rugby player health

Best wishes

Chris

🏉 Womens Rugby Injury Prevention and Risk Reduction

5 Key Areas of Female Specific Research that are helpful to be aware of 👌

Women’s rugby needs its own injury-prevention strategy.

Female players deserve support that reflects the actual demands of their game.

From neck strength and concussion risk, to knee control, tackle exposure, recovery and cycle awareness, injury prevention in women’s rugby should be specific, practical and evidence-led.

Current evidence also supports regular neuromuscular warm-ups and progressive contact preparation.

Swipe through the 5 areas that the sports medicine research is focussing on the most right now

Hope the post is useful

Chapter 65 : Expert advice from the Pro Rugby Sidelines

This was one of my favourite chapter ideas based off a 2008 clinics in sports medicine article

I asked over 40 former players , coaches performance staff , refs, medics , therapists , strength and conditioning nutrition, psychology etc to offer some advice on injury prevention and injury recovery.

They were asked( nicely) to either :

1. To discuss freely any concepts around injury prevention and + performance that they felt was important for rugby players to understand.

Or

2. What advice they would give to a 16 to 18 year-old player who is transitioning to Senior/ Adult Rugby from a performance and an injury prevention POV

The response was amazing and I am very grateful for the fantastic nuggets of gold from their professional experience that they have shared with the rugby world

Thank you to all those that contributed from all over the world.

I am very grateful and honoured by your presence in the book- thank you 🙏

Thank you for all the messages and support over the last week - it’s been a whirlwind and a very busy few weeks ( few years 😅)

It has been one week since the release of the book on Amazon😅🔥

Thank you to all those that have bought the book and appreciate the positive feedback, stories posts and kind words and reviews - it all really helps in the early stages🙌

From my time working in professional and international rugby and then leaving that arena , I noticed the vast differences in access to affordable rugby injury prevention and rehabilitation care and specialists for many players and coaches .

I wanted to create a resource for players and coaches and those that look after them 👍

The aim of the book is to help reduce rugby injury risk and improve rugby injury recovery journeys 🤝

Happy this long time dream has come true !

I hope it helps the rugby community 💪

Best wishes

🏉Women’s Rugby Injury Prevention: Tackle Technique

Good luck to women’s in their opening game vs today in the

Great video here by demonstrating some of the physical prep been done behind the scenes and nailing tackle technique.

Alongside the physical preparation done in the gym to improve neck and shoulder strength to create robustness in the tackle and contact area , an area that all women’s rugby players need to develop is optimal tackle technique.

Tackle technique is a highly coachable skill and massively important as part of an overall approach to improving tackle performance and reducing injury risk at the same time.

Tackle positions and shapes , footwork, head position and shoulder lead tackles are all part of the learning process that need to be continually refined and upgraded across players careers.

Good luck to all the players in the tournament and I am hoping as always for safe/ optimal and legal tackles to make the game enjoyable and safer

Let’s go

Cheers

Rugby has changed🏉

Rugby Injury management has too 👍

Since ‘Rugby Injuries’ by Dunhill and Gray in 1982, the game has gone professional , rugby players have become faster, bigger, more powerful, and the game of rugby has become more demanding on the body🤕

There has been maybe 1-2 books written on this area and the other books was in the 1990’s called Rugby without Risk

That is exactly why I wrote
‘Rugby Injury Prevention and Return to Play’ — a modern, practical guide for today’s players, coaches, and clinicians.

I hope you find it useful to help reduce risk of rugby injury - whether you are a rugby player , rugby coach or rugby back room staff looking after Rugby Teams 👍
