🌒 On 12 August, a partial solar eclipse will be visible across the UK. Ordinary sunglasses - no matter how dark - allow harmful solar radiation to reach the retina and should not be used to view an eclipse.

A reminder from the UK Health Security Agency: If you want to use eclipse glasses make sure they are genuine with specially designed filters that meet the international safety standard. 😎

At Crane Valley Primary Care Network, we see firsthand how many life-saving and life-improving medications are prescribed every day. But with every prescription comes packaging—and right now, standard blister packs are almost impossible to recycle at home.

Healthcare shouldn’t come at the cost of our environment. 🌿

We are backing this Parliamentary petition urging the Government to direct pharmaceutical manufacturers to take responsibility for their packaging. They must either set up dedicated, accessible recycling systems for used pill packets or transition to eco-friendly, biodegradable alternatives.

It takes less than 2 minutes to sign, but it could lead to systemic environmental change across the entire UK healthcare sector.

The recycling of medicinal (pill) packets is costly and difficult to do due to their composition. If the manufacturers of pill packets were made responsible for recycling used packets, there would be a greater chance of less impact on the environment and/or more sustainable packaging being used.

DWFireRescue offers FREE Home Fire Safety Visits (also known as Safe & Well visits) to keep you and your loved ones safe at home.
