Yoga isn't about physical perfection. It’s about how we treat ourselves when no one is watching. In yoga philosophy, the Yamas and Niyamas provide a beautiful, ancient blueprint for deep self-love and self-care.

Here are three powerful principles to help us step into our worth today:

🕊️ 1. Ahimsa (Non-Violence) = Mental Kindness

Ahimsa isn't just about not harming others; it starts with how we treat yourselves. When we notice a harsh, self-critical thought, gently pause. Can we trade that criticism for compassion? Self-love means speaking to ourselves like someone you deeply care about.

🙏 2. Santosha (Contentment) = "I am enough"

It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking, "I’ll be worthy when I lose weight, quit smoking, master that arm balance or get that promotion." Santosha reminds us to find peace right here, right now. We don’t need to alter a single thing about ourselves to be worthy of love and respect today.

📖 3. Svadhyaya (Self-Study) = Embracing Our Story

Svadhyaya is the practice of looking inward without judgment. When we study our habits, reactions and fears with curiosity instead of criticism, we begin to truly understand ourselves. Understanding leads to acceptance, and acceptance is the foundation of genuine self-worth.💚

Historically I haven’t easily embraced change, endings or goodbyes…but this year has taught me change is essential for growth. 💜
Today I had my last yoga session with an incredible group of women I’ve been teaching for the past 3–4 years. It was emotional: celebration and sadness. I am filled with pride for the way they have progressed from beginners with their yoga. We have all grown so much together, both on and off the mat. 🧘‍♀️✨
They are a remarkable group who have inspired me in many ways.🧡
I’m looking forward to hearing about the next chapters of their yoga journeys and I’m sure we’ll see each other more often than we think! 🙏
This is not goodbye—take care of your beautiful selves and keep in touch. 💚###

The Full Moon on August 28 is in the intuitive sign of Pisces. This can be a time of deep emotional release, dissolving old boundaries, trusting our inner voice and closing chapters as we transition into Autumn🍂.
This Full Moon brings a partial, yet deep, Lunar Eclipse. The moon will lose its usual bright glow and instead take on a red or copper colour. (The best time to see the 96% eclipse is 5.15am.)
While the influence of a Full Moon is sometimes said to last for two weeks, and both reset our emotions, the energy of a Lunar Eclipse lasts nearly six months and thoroughly clears away emotional baggage.
We may be more aware of our dreams and gut feelings can be much stronger. This moon asks us to surrender, to flow with change and trust divine timing. We will benefit from being flexible and taking advantage of unexpected opportunities.
It’s great time to reflect on our resilience and inner strength, honouring how much we’ve grown and survived this year.

✨ Surviving eclipse season ✨

Roughly twice a year, the sun, moon and Earth align closely enough to produce a pair of eclipses within a few weeks of each other. Astrologically, this window is traditionally associated with faster change, surfaced emotions and disrupted routines. 🌗

Here are 7 ways to move through it steadily — from delaying big decisions to being a little more patient with mishaps than usual.
Want to go deeper into lunar cycles and eclipse energy? Our Moon Magic Diploma Course covers it all: https://www.centreofexcellence.com/shop/moonology-diploma-course/
(Eclipse energetics are a traditional, symbolic framework — a lens for reflection, not a scientific claim.) 🌙
