๐Ÿ’™ Urology Awareness Month ๐Ÿ’™

This Urology Awareness Month, we're helping to raise awareness of urological health and encouraging people to learn more about conditions that affect the urinary system and male reproductive organs.

Urological conditions can affect people of all ages and may include issues with the kidneys, bladder, prostate and urinary tract. Many people experience symptoms but may delay seeking help due to embarrassment or not recognising the signs.

Common symptoms that shouldn't be ignored include:

๐Ÿ”น Blood in your urine
๐Ÿ”น Changes in urinary habits
๐Ÿ”น Pain or burning when passing urine
๐Ÿ”น Frequent urinary tract infections
๐Ÿ”น Difficulty emptying your bladder
๐Ÿ”น Lower back, pelvic or abdominal pain

Early diagnosis and treatment can make a real difference. If you're experiencing symptoms or have concerns about your urological health, speak to a healthcare professional.

๐Ÿฉธ Blood Cancer Awareness Month๐Ÿฉธ

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness of blood cancer and support the thousands of people affected by it. Blood cancer often receives less attention than other cancers, so every year the blood cancer community comes together to increase understanding of the disease and its symptoms.

Blood cancer includes conditions such as leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, MDS and MPN, and symptoms can vary depending on the type. Common symptoms can include:

๐Ÿ”น Unexplained weight loss
๐Ÿ”น Unexplained bruising or bleeding
๐Ÿ”น Lumps or swellings
๐Ÿ”น Shortness of breath
๐Ÿ”น Drenching night sweats
๐Ÿ”น Persistent, recurrent or severe infections
๐Ÿ”น Unexplained fever (38ยฐC or above)
๐Ÿ”น Unexplained rash or itchy skin
๐Ÿ”น Pain in bones, joints or the abdomen
๐Ÿ”น Extreme tiredness that doesn't improve with rest
๐Ÿ”น Paleness

It's important to remember that some symptoms can look different on different skin tones.

Knowing the signs could make a difference. If you have any symptoms that concern you, speak to a healthcare professional.
