♥️ QUEEN OF HEARTS — DAY THREE ♥️
The Supporting Cast Comes to Life… ♠️♥️♣️♦️

Day Three of our Queen of Hearts Masterclass was all about bringing the supporting characters to life — and what a day it was! 👑✨

Today it was my turn to teach, and our focus was on creating the little characters that would complete and add even more magic to our Queen of Hearts displays.

Our first challenge was to build two little playing-card characters, complete with their tiny paintbrushes, ready to carry out the very important task of painting the white roses red! 🌹🎨

I took everyone through the full process, from sizing and proportioning, to the best ways to construct their little bodies, arms and heads, before moving on to painting and bringing all those tiny details to life.

And because every good Queen of Hearts day needs a little bit of mischief… we added a couple of extra challenges along the way! 😍

The attention to detail was incredible, especially considering just how tiny some of these pieces were!

Once everyone had completed their two little card characters, we brought everything together. All the supporting characters were lined up, displayed and placed alongside the rest of their creations — and suddenly, the whole Queen of Hearts story came to life. ❤️👑

Seeing all of the finished pieces together was honestly the most incredible part.

Every single student did exceptionally well. Each display was completely individual, beautifully constructed and packed with personality, detail and creativity.

The final pieces were absolutely stunning and, without a doubt, worthy of the Masterclass title. 👏🏻✨

I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you. ❤️

👑 QUEEN OF HEARTS — DAY TWO 👑

Day Two was all about creating the centrepiece of our Queen of Hearts build — the Queen herself! ❤️

Taught by the fabulous queen herself, Angela Metcalfe, our students were guided step by step through building their Queens from scratch — from working out body proportions and structure, to creating those gorgeous textures and layers using acrylic, gel polish, solid builder gel and gel paints.

And WOW… what they created in just one day was absolutely spectacular! 😍

Every Queen had her own quirky personality, individual flair and unique little details. Some were genuinely competition-worthy pieces! 👑✨

I’m incredibly proud of our educator Angela for sharing her knowledge and skills so beautifully, but even more proud of every single student for absorbing so much information and turning it into something so amazing.

You absolutely smashed it! ❤️♠️♣️♦️

What a truly magical few days at Black Diamond Academy! ❤️👑

Our Queen of Hearts Mixed Media Masterclass was an absolute joy from start to finish.

✨ Day 1 with the fabulous Rachel Wilders, creating beautiful backdrops packed with texture, composition and clever creative techniques.

👑 Day 2 with the talented Angela Metcalfe, guiding us step by step through creating our very own Queen of Hearts.

♣️ Day 3 with me, bringing the scene to life by creating our little card soldiers and completing the story.

I am so proud of every student who took part. You embraced every challenge, added your own personality to your pieces and created some truly spectacular work. ❤️

A huge thank you to Rachel, Angela and every single person who joined us and made this event so special.

✨ “Inspiration is all around you. Open your nail eyes.” 👁️✨

Creativity doesn’t just happen in the salon or at a competition table — it’s everywhere, if you know how to look for it. A crack in the pavement, the petals on a flower, the colours in a sunset, textures on a building wall… it’s all raw material for your next design.

This video is a little look back at some of my creations over the years — from competition pieces, to workshops I’ve done, to the quiet moments just sat at my desk letting an idea take over. Most things started with something you noticed in the world around you.
