Wakefield & District Society for Deaf People Supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing People across the Wakefield District We provide equipment to enable independence, improve well-being and reduce risk.

Wakefield Deaf Society is a specialised service concerned with the needs of deaf and hearing impaired people throughout the Wakefield Metropolitan District. We provide support with mail translation, booking interpreters, making telephone calls and other low level issues you may need support with.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported our 125 year celebrations this weekend! 🎉

The whole weekend was an absolute success. Bringing together the deaf and hard of hearing community for a whole lot of fun. Looking back on the past as we look toward the future.

11.30am - West Yorkshire Police are doing a presentation at 11.30am.
12 noon - Free lunch for all from 12 noon
1pm - Power in our Hands movie

🎉Starting at 11.30am on Saturday 5th September 🎉
2pm - Bingo (eyes down)
6.30pm - Gavin Lilley Comedy Show starting at 7pm

🎊Starting at 10am on Sunday 6th September 🎊
10am - We will have a magician, caricaturist, facepainting, tombola, raffle and games
11.30am - Street Food Van (free lunch!)
12pm - Deaf Rave 🎧

We're kindly asking for Raffle & Tombola donations – no matter how big or small, every donation makes a difference.

Thank you for your support. Every prize helps us raise more money. All proceeds go towards continuing our support of the deaf and hard of hearing community within the Wakefield District! Together we can keep making a real difference.
