I'm loving expanding my knowledge on ways to utilise the herbs we use in cooking and those herbs/plants and trees that grow in the wild to help optimise our health. Reconnecting to nature and increasing knowledge on how we can help ourselves heal is such a gift.

There's a place for pharmaceuticals but bit in instances where we can reduce the need for intervention and self manage our health, I believe it is worth trying and experimenting within our own boundariesšŸ’š

Herbal teas are a bit of a passion of mine. I love creating variations based on what I feel I need at the time with common herbs found in the cupboard.

Here's my go-to for that post-lunch/dinner bloat.

1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp grated fresh ginger

Add to a pan containing 4 cups of boiling water, cover and leave for 10 minutes to infuse. Strain and pour. If you have a sweet tooth, add a little raw honey after pouring.

I'm passionate in how much we can support our own health with what's already in the kitchen cupboard and my studies with the Academy Healing Nutrition at the moment goes deeper into this and feeds directly into how I work with clients, particularly around fertility and hormonal health.

Give it a try,
Love Catherine x

7 physical signs your body is under stress even when you feel fine - plus 5 ways to reset.

That's what's in my free guide, The Stress & Fertility Decoder

I used to think stress was an emotion.

So when my acupuncturist told me I needed to reduce mine, I genuinely didn't get it. I was busy, yes, but I felt fine. I wasn't anxious or falling apart. I thought I thrived on being busy.

What I didn't know then is that stress is both physiological and emotional, and the physiological side has nothing to do with how you feel. Hidden stressors, the ones you can't even name, affect your nervous system, your hormones, your sleep and your ovulation.

It's nothing to do with how well you cope. It's about your body carrying more than it was designed to hold.

That's what The Stress and Fertility Decoder is about. Comment STRESSED below and I'll send it to your DMs.

šŸ”„It looks like our nervous systems may determine how this year feels.

We’re entering the Year of the Fire Horse.

In Chinese astrology, Fire Horse years are traditionally associated with strong, visible and fast-moving energy. For some, that may feel like momentum. For others, it may feel like chaos. Things can feel quicker, emotions can run hotter, decisions can feel more urgent.

Fire itself isn’t the problem, but uncontained Fire is.

When regulated, Fire brings clarity, direction and forward movement. It helps things grow.

In Chinese Medicine, Fire relates to the Heart and the Heart influences sleep, emotional balance and the stability of the nervous system. When we’re already depleted or chronically stressed, heightened internal ā€œheatā€ can disrupt sleep, increase anxiety and influence menstrual cycle patterns.

But when the foundation is steady, that same Fire can become courage,Ā clarity, connection, passion; it has the potential to support growth without burnout.

An uncontained fire burns.
Whereas a contained fire warms.

That’s the difference, and that’s the work for us this year.

If you’d like practical ways to help steady your nervous system and support your health this year, I’ll be sharing more in my newsletter. You can sign up via the link in my bio.

Happy Chinese new year, Catherine xx

My morning walk yesterday reminded me that there’s a particular kind of quiet that only arrives with snow.
Not silence, just a sense of stillness.

This is winter for me - not pushing through, just space to be.

Yet it’s a new year. We are back to work. We are back to life.

For many the speed of this is often the opposite of what we really need right now.

If like me you would love to rest more, this is our reminder to find small moments in the day to pause.

A few minutes here and there can make such a difference to how we feel.

It could be breathwork, reading a chapter of your favourite book, playing your favourite song, sneaking in a 10 minute nap?

My break later this morning is trying to complete the annual Christmas puzzle with a Matcha Fuel latte😊

Happy new year and wishing you a year where hopes and dreams come true.

Love & hugs

One last home brew I couldn't resist sharing, because it tastes just like Christmas!!

It’s warming, grounding, and exactly what your body needs after rich food, baileys and late night's!

It's great for your digestion, supports circulation and gives the immune system a gentle nudge.

You can batch make it or single servings:
think ratios rather than precise amounts:
– Cinnamon sticks, broken up (3 parts)
– Cardamom pods (1 part)
– Pink or black peppercorns (1 part)
– Star anise (1 part)
– Cloves (1 part)

How I make it:
Mix everything together and store it in a glass jar.
When you want a cup, add a couple of teaspoons to a mug or infuser (I'm in love with my new magnetic teapot!!), throw in a slice of fresh ginger, pour over boiling water and leave it for 5–10 minutes.

Merry Christmas all, I'm back in clinic on 5th Jan 2026!!

Wishing you warmth, rest... and something soothing in your cup this Christmasā¤ļøā¤ļø

For the first time, I’m trying something new to mark this winter solstice. I have written 13 intentions that I want to help guide me over the next year.

Over the next 12 days I’ll burn one a day, and the final one left is the one I’ll be reaponsible to work with in the year ahead - the other 12 have been sent out to the universe and let's see what happens. Simple, reflective, and a bit different for me.

It feels less about forcing outcomes and more about trusting what’s meant to be worked withā¤ļø

Sometimes you've just gotta stop and listen! How gorgeous to stop and be present in the moment - especially when the dawn chorus is in full swing. It is so easy to run, be occupied with thoughts, or busy kicking the ball for Marley... But today I was present.

Remember healing starts with listening ā¤ļø

🄦DIY GREENS POWDER - Results are in!!

This one was fun to do and so straight forward.Ā  I loved how easy it is to adjust the ingredients to suit your own tastebuds!!Ā  This means I have been able to make it far less sweet, and the sweetness that I add comes from ingredients that I choose!

The saving is significant - yes you have to fork out for the numerous different powders initially but, per gram, the overall saving was a whopping 73%Ā  - and I had bought the organic versions!Ā

This is a subscription that I cancelled immediately and will make my own from now onšŸ’š.Ā

I really hope someone out there might feel motivated to try making their own too!

The ingredients I used were all powders:

1 part:

Mango powder (not sweet - very citrusy)
Apple fibre
Spirulina
Chlorella
Moringa
BroccoliĀ
Wheatgrass
Ashwagandha
Maca
Beetroot Juice

2 part:
Freeze dried pineapple
Lacuma

1/2 part
Matcha

for extra sweetness:

Inulin (prebiotic) - max 5g per day - start gently

Alternative greens could include : Alfalfa, Kale, Spinach, Barley Grass.Ā  And extra fruit powder could be Kiwi, passion fruit, raspberry, lemon peel.

If you have one, you could pop one of the food standard silicone packs into the container to prevent moisture.

NOTE: this is a supplement and I don't use it to replace my daily portions of veg!!!
PS. Remember to wipe your mouth after - noticed my green smile!!

Would love to know if you try it and how you get on? Do adjust for your own taste!
