Today we said goodbye to Mitch, Zoe’s mum, whose funeral took place today.
Mitch was an amazing woman who cared for and supported Zoe brilliantly and fiercely. She will be remembered with enormous love and affection by so many people.
From the very beginning of Blue Door, more than 20 years ago, Mitch was a wonderful supporter of the project. Every Christmas, she would give a bottle of wine to every member of staff — a small gesture that was typical of her incredible generosity.
Only last year, when Mitch discovered that we had made a short film which was being shown at a local cinema, she hired a stretch limousine to transport our service users to the screening like Hollywood stars. It was just one of countless generous and thoughtful things she did over the years.
Mitch will be greatly missed by everyone at Blue Door. Our thoughts and love are with Zoe and all of Mitch’s family at this incredibly difficult time. ❤️
