🪶 5th September – Day of the Djed 🪶

Today we honour the ancient Khemitian Ceremony of the Raising of the Djed Pillar.

For those of us working with the Neteru and the energies of Khemit through Reyad Sekh Em®, the Djed is a particularly resonant symbol.

Representing stability, endurance and regeneration, it became associated with the backbone of Wzr (Ausar/Osiris) and his restoration following his dismemberment. Earlier traditions also associated the Djed with Ptah.

The act of raising the Djed can therefore be understood as an act of restoration and realignment – returning the energetic structure to an upright, stable and empowered state.

We might reflect today on our own inner Djed: the energetic axis through which we stand grounded between Earth and the higher realms.

✨ Where do you feel strong and aligned?

✨ Where might something have slipped out of alignment?

✨ What would help you return to your own centre?

Perhaps take a few moments today to stand quietly, connect with the Earth beneath your feet and visualise the Djed strengthening through your central axis.

🐺 4th September – Anpu 🖤

Today we honour Anpu (more widely known as Anubis, the later Hellenised form), guardian of the threshold and guide through the mysteries of transition.

For those of us working with the Khemitian Neteru, Anpu's energy can be understood as reaching far beyond physical death. He accompanies those moments when we cross from one state of being into another — through endings, initiation, transformation and rebirth.

His presence at the weighing of the heart also connects him profoundly with Ma’at: truth, balance and the honest recognition of what we carry within us.

There is something particularly powerful in Anpu's black colouring. Black was the colour of the rich, fertile soil left by the Nile inundation — Khem — and therefore carried associations not only with death, but with fertility, regeneration and renewed life.

Anpu can therefore remind us that transformation asks us both to relinquish what has completed its purpose and to trust what may emerge beyond the threshold.

🌕🌘 Hazel Sturgeon Full Moon & Partial Lunar Eclipse – Friday 28th August

Our latest Harmony Blog explores an especially evocative Full Moon, bringing together Hazel wisdom, the ancient Sturgeon and the interplay of light and shadow during a Partial Lunar Eclipse.

🌿 Hazel has long been associated with sacred knowledge, learning, memory and inspiration.

🐟 The ancient Sturgeon takes us into deeper waters, offering a wonderful symbol of instinct, endurance and navigating what cannot always be seen.

🌘 And the Partial Lunar Eclipse reminds us that something can remain whole even when part of it is temporarily hidden from view.

Together, they invite quiet revelation rather than dramatic unveiling – allowing wisdom to surface gently and in its own time.

The eclipse begins at approximately 3.33am BST, reaching maximum at around 5.12am on Friday morning, and is completely safe to view with the naked eye.

🏺 Two Sacred Days of Ancient Egypt: Wagy & the Festival of Tehuti 🌙✨

Yesterday and today bring us two ancient Egyptian observances which sit beautifully together — taking us from remembrance and honouring those who have gone before us into wisdom, sacred knowledge and deeper understanding.

🌿 Tuesday 18th August – The Feast of Wagy

Yesterday marked Wagy, an ancient Egyptian festival associated with remembrance of the deceased and the continuing connection between the living and those who had passed beyond the physical world.

It offers us an opportunity to honour our ancestors and loved ones who are no longer physically with us, acknowledging the wisdom, love and experiences that continue through the generations.

We might take a quiet moment to remember someone whose presence helped shape the person we are today — perhaps lighting a candle, offering a favourite flower, or simply holding them in our thoughts.

🌙 Wednesday 19th August – Festival of Tehuti (Thoth)

Today we turn to Tehuti, known to the Greeks as Thoth — the ibis-headed Khemitian deity associated with wisdom, writing, sacred knowledge, learning, measurement and the mysteries of language and communication.

Tehuti was regarded as a divine scribe and keeper of sacred knowledge, bringing understanding and order through the power of the written and spoken word.

He was also closely associated with the Moon and with Ma’at — divine truth, balance and cosmic order. In the ancient Egyptian depiction of the weighing of the heart, Tehuti records the outcome as the heart is weighed against Ma’at's feather.

His festival therefore offers a lovely opportunity to pause and consider:

✨ What wisdom am I ready to understand more deeply?
✨ Where do I need greater clarity or discernment?
✨ What knowledge might be waiting to be remembered rather than learned?
✨ How consciously am I using my own words?

Although these ancient festival dates belong to another time and culture, their underlying themes remain surprisingly relevant.

From Wagy's remembrance of those who came before us to Tehuti's guardianship of wisdom and sacred knowledge, these two consecutive sacred days invite us to honour what has been passed down to us — and to consider what wisdom we ourselves will carry forward.

🌠 The Perseids are coming – and 2026 could be a particularly magical year for viewing them.
One of the most beautiful celestial displays of the summer, the Perseid Meteor Shower, reaches its peak overnight on 12th–13th August.
And this year the heavens have arranged something rather special. 🌑✨
With the New Moon falling on 12th August (see previous post), there will be very little moonlight to obscure the fainter meteors, creating exceptionally favourable conditions if the skies are clear.
The Perseids have long been one of my (Jo) favourite annual celestial events. Some of my happiest memories are of lying outside beneath the August sky with my daughters, wrapped in duvets and watching for those sudden streaks of light.
In my latest blog, I explore not only when and where to look, but also the spiritual symbolism of the Perseids and Zikiel, Angel of Comets and Meteors, associated with inspiration, inner wisdom and our connection with All That Is.

🌑✨ Hazel New Moon & Total Solar Eclipse – Wednesday 12th August 2026 ✨🌿
A rather extraordinary celestial alignment arrives this Wednesday, when the Hazel New Moon at 18:36 BST coincides with a Total Solar Eclipse.
Although the path of totality falls outside the UK, a partial eclipse will be visible here, and symbolically this meeting of Sun and Moon offers a powerful threshold for reflection, release and new beginnings.
🌿 In the Celtic Tree Calendar, Hazel is associated with wisdom, intuition, inspiration and deeper knowing — particularly appropriate when familiar light is temporarily obscured and we are invited to look within.
🕯️ Intriguingly, 12th August is also the Day of the Light of Aset (Isis), bringing together beautiful themes of light and shadow, concealment and illumination.
And this is only the beginning. The Hazel lunar cycle opens with this Total Solar Eclipse and culminates on 28th August with the Hazel Sturgeon Full Moon & Partial Lunar Eclipse.

🦁 The 8:8 Lion's Gate Portal – Awakening the Solar Lion Within ✨
Today, 8th August, marks the energetic peak of the Lion's Gate Portal — a time associated with Sirius, heightened spiritual awareness, courage and transformation.
This year's 8:8 carries an additional symbolism. 2026 is a Universal 1 Year, marking the beginning of a new nine-year cycle and bringing themes of fresh beginnings, vision, conscious creation and stepping forwards with renewed purpose.
For the Ancient Egyptians, Sirius — Sopdet — heralded the annual flooding of the Nile and became a powerful symbol of renewal, abundance and divine guidance.
Perhaps this Lion's Gate isn't about seeking something outside ourselves at all.
Perhaps it is an invitation to remember the courage, wisdom and light we already carry within. 🦁✨

Today marks the beginning of the Khemitian New Year—a sacred time of renewal, reflection and fresh beginnings within the wisdom traditions of Ancient Egypt.

As one spiritual cycle comes to a close and another begins, we are invited to release what no longer serves us, honour the lessons of the past, and step forward with greater clarity, purpose and intention.
