Elmbridge Mencap Supporting children and adults who have learning disabilities as well as their parents and carers.

Elmbridge Mencap is affiliated to Mencap but works independently on a local level for the benefit of people with learning disabilities and their parents/carers in the Elmbridge and surrounding areas. We are here to offer help and advice in a practical way and we hope enrich the lives of all people with learning disabilities. We do not receive any support/subsidies from Mencap or any other charity/

government departments. We rely on income from hall lettings, fundraising activities, membership subscriptions, donations and grant awards.

Wow! What a busy fun week we have all enjoyed at Elmbridge Mencap Day Service! Cooking and cakes, music and dancing, raving and relaxing, yoga and ABBA aerobics, pool and painting, bingo and boccia! You name it, we did it! But above all, fun and friendships reined supreme!!! 😀😘🤗🤩😀😘🤗🤩😀😘🤗🤩

Elmbridge Mencap Burview Buddies went out to explore our beautiful woodlands this week and enjoyed treasure hunts, giant jenga, hoopla, basketball 🏀, bean bag toss, climbing trees, singing 🎵 around the ‘fire pit’, fresh air, exercise and enjoying the great outdoors!!! 🌳🌿🪾🎋. FUN!🤩 FUN!🤩 FUN!🤩

Just to say a huge thank from all of us at Elmbridge Mencap Day Service to all of you lovely people out there who responded to our plea for bingo prizes! We have been spoilt with lots and lots of wonderful prizes donated that have made bingo even more popular than ever amongst our members!
To name but a few: thank you to Dendy, Jayne Hadley and family, Ros’s Mum Carol Ketteridge, our Mark’s Mum, Wendy’s Mum and sister Cathy, plus many more of you out there who donated anonymously 🙏🙏🙏🙏Your generosity is greatly appreciated 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Another great week at Elmbridge Mencap Day Service. We started with a bang, celebrating our Dawid and Jo’s birthdays, not forgetting our lovely volunteer Carol too! We had a special Chinese Feast followed by a very indulgent Eton mess with fresh raspberries and blueberries 🫐😋. Of course there was plenty of singing and dancing - especially from birthday girl Jo…….. not to mention cakes galore!🎂. We had our usual fabulous range of activities on offer including, yoga sound bath, bingo, arts and crafts, pool etc., plus life skills like cooking and helping out in the kitchen. We have started work on our next display board to celebrate and commemorate 80 years of Mencap!!! Watch this space………

Wow!!! What a banger of a night we had this week at Elmbridge Mencap Burview Buddies Club!!🤩
We outshone the eclipse 🌘 at our Summer Singalong with our fabulous guest singer, Kate!! There was singing, dancing, karaoke 🎤and we also celebrated our Olivia’s 19th birthday 🎂!!
Lots of laughs, fab friendships and a great time was had by all!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
