The early morning start this morning was a little shock to the system but I’m feeling refreshed, excited and ready for what’s ahead.

Hearing loss can be difficult to spot, and often it's family or friends who notice the signs before you do. It can be even harder to recognise if hearing loss only affects one ear, as your other ear may compensate, making changes less obvious.

Some common signs of hearing loss include:
- Frequently asking people to repeat themselves or mishearing what's been said
- Turning up the volume on the TV, radio or headphones more than you used to
- Finding it difficult to hear conversations on the phone or always putting the phone on loudspeaker

Laura is a Hearing Aid Dispenser (and Advanced Nurse Practitioner) with over 16 years of healthcare experience both within the NHS and privately. She prides herself in getting to know her patient's, building a good rapport and helping them in the best way she can, tailoring to the needs of the individual and providing personalised care.

Alongside her work she has 2 small boys to keep her busy and is married to Nicholas. Her hobbies include gardening and her allotment, baking with the children and spending time with family and friends.
