Chair Yoga Community Centre!

Every Wednesday Morning from 9.30 am

These classes are all about finding an accessible way to move , breath and connect through the practices of Yoga.

Don't be fooled by the word Chair - The chair is simply used as a support like any other prop, becoming an extension of our body.

My ethos with these classes is teaching people not poses - so whatever challenges you may face physically or otherwise, I aim to make this class as accessible as I can.

Enjoy mindful movement and breath in this community class 🙏

All the health benefits of yoga ,the chair is used as a support and extension of the body.

But don't be fooled into thinking Chair yoga is an 'easier' version of a movement class.

The type of movement we practice is accessible Mindful movement - by uniting the brain, body and breath together we gently challenge our movement,mind and body in a way that feels accessible.

Through connection and integration of each system an interconnectedness within the whole body mind is gradually revealed.

As humans we need frequent reminding that we are more than just our painful or challenging health experience, our different daily roles in life or the sometimes overwhelming emotions we are experiencing in the moment.

By coming together in a group we create community and connection.
Working with and using our individual experiences as a tool for ourselves we can learn to SEE our experience rather than BE our experience.

By practicing yoga regularly,overtime we acquire some tools that better equip us and support us to face life's daily challenges.

Dear Supporters,

We are thrilled to share an exciting update on our upcoming fitness centre!

Back in November, we launched a 10-day online survey and received incredibly positive feedback, with over 300 responses that supported and shaped our vision.

We have since received hundreds of emails, phone calls and conversations from supporters eager to see the gym brought to life.

Since then, we have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to turn this vision into reality.

We have developed a comprehensive and sustainable operational plan to ensure the centre is viable for our charity. We have been actively pursuing grant funding and building a strong fundraising strategy. In partnership with a leading UK gym supplier, we have also designed the full layout and specification for the facility, envisioning a space we truly believe will serve and inspire our community.

We are delighted to report that we have now raised over half of the required capital, supported by several major organisations who strongly believe in our vision. We are actively progressing a number of exciting opportunities/prospects to secure the remaining capital.

So, to answer the question that everyone has been asking: Yes, the gym is happening, and it is well on its way!

Over the coming weeks and months, we will be sharing more details and answering all your questions - when it will open, what equipment it will include, and how you can sign up. We are confident that you will share our excitement about what is being created for community.

For now, we simply ask everyone to help us keep the momentum going - share the news with friends and family, and help us build the support that will strengthen our local applications and prospects.

Keep an eye on our social media channels and mailing list for updates. Our new website, launching soon, will become the central hub for everything related to the fitness centre.

This Wednesday Morning -This month's theme -Spring yoga and movement for gardening bodies!!

Life is a mix of sunny skies and dark clouds. Yoga supports us to live well and suffer well, providing us with a range of tools,practices and a community that supports connecting to our own strengths and our flexibility - in body and mind.

Practices can be adapted and made accessible, no matter where you are in your life and health journey.

With Spring 🌼 in full swing and more access to longer days and more ☀️ ,come and join us for some fun, creative, functional and accessible movement, breathing practices and mindfulness that can support your health and everyday life !!!

I would dearly love to welcome some new yogi's to my friendly morning class. If you're not sure if chair yoga is for you then take a look below 👇

We meet for our class every Wednesday Morning village hall.. it's a super friendly group and accessible for all, it's been up and running a little while and many of the students are reporting some wonderful benefits by committing to regular sessions. (Check out my previous posts for more details)
To keep this class accessible and affordable and running each week it would be wonderful to welcome in some more lovely folks to join us!!!
The hall has parking and is spacious and warm , so if you've been looking for a friendly and accessible class to support your health why not come and join us .
