☀️ It's an absolute scorcher today, so let's talk water...

💧 Why does your reflexologist always remind you to drink plenty of water?

It’s not just a friendly reminder, it’s an important part of supporting your wellbeing.

Our bodies are made up of around 60% water, and every cell relies on it to function properly. Water helps transport nutrients, regulate body temperature, lubricate joints, support digestion, and flush waste products from the body.

When you’re dehydrated, even mildly, you may notice:
💧 Fatigue or low energy
💧 Headaches
💧 Muscle cramps
💧 Brain fog or poor concentration
💧 Dry skin
💧 Dizziness
💧 Constipation

During a reflexology treatment, your body is encouraged to relax, rebalance, and support its natural healing processes. Staying well hydrated helps your body function at its best before and after your session.

☀️ In the summer months, it’s even easier to become dehydrated. Warmer weather means we lose more fluid through sweating, and if we’re spending time outdoors, exercising, travelling, or enjoying the sunshine, our water needs increase.

A few simple ways to stay hydrated:

✅ Sip water regularly throughout the day rather than waiting until you’re thirsty.
✅ Enjoy water-rich foods like cucumber, watermelon, oranges, and strawberries.
✅ Remember that tea and coffee don’t replace water, especially on hot days.

Think of water as one of the simplest acts of self-care; it supports your body every single day.

So next time your reflexologist reminds you to drink more water, you’ll know it’s because we want you to get the very best from your treatment and feel your healthiest.

The recommended daily water intake is around 8 glasses a day, although your individual needs may vary depending on your activity level, the weather, and your overall health.

How many glasses of water have you had today?💙👣

Myth 6... 'reflexology can fix medical conditions'

If you see or hear a reflexologist saying they can 'cure' an ailment or medical condition, run in the opposite direction! We should never be diagnosing conditions or claiming that we can cure anything.

Myth 7...'you need perfect feet for reflexology'

So many people get in my chair and apologise for 'the state' of their feet. Please dont! I'm not here to judge; my feet certainly aren't perfect! And often those perceived imperfections are clues for me to gauge where you may have imbalances or areas that need a little extra love ❤️

Myth 8... 'reflexology only involves the feet' 👣

In my Mian Dui facials, a portion of the treatment is facial reflexology. I also often give after-care advice that involves clients stimulating certain reflexes on the hands to continue to balance their system.
