Often people avoid movement when they experience tendon pain. Pain can trigger hesitancy in movement and a fear of 'making things worse'.
Gentle, controlled, specific movement is exactly what your tendon needs to heal and stay strong. Complete rest can cause the tendon to be weaker, stiffer and more likely to experience future injury.
Specific exercises such as light resistance work, bodyweight movements and stretches can help the tendon to adapt to stress and load. Progressive loading will enable the tendon to be stronger and cope with increased load and activity levels.
Pain doesn't always equal harm.
Move with purpose and with care.
