Sometimes, you don’t realise how much has changed until someone asks you. 🤔
I was having a weekly catch-up call with a client recently, and as part of our regular check-in, I was asking about the symptoms they had originally come to me with.
One of those was anxiety.
They had been experiencing terrible anxiety when we first started working together.
So I asked, “How has your anxiety been?”
They stopped.
“I haven’t actually been experiencing any anxiety.”
Then they paused again.
“I've actually been feeling a lot calmer. And thinking about it, I feel much better equipped to deal with stressful situations at work too.”
This is why I do what I do. 💖
It genuinely makes my heart sing when a client has one of those moments where they suddenly realise, “Hang on... I’m actually feeling different.”
And it’s also one of the reasons I believe regular support can make such a difference.
Because when life is busy, we can be so focused on what’s still wrong, what we still need to work on, or the symptoms that haven’t completely gone away, that we forget to notice the changes that are already happening.
Sometimes you need someone alongside you to reflect those changes back to you.
That’s why I don’t believe in simply having a one-off consultation, handing over a plan and sending you on your way.
Real change takes time.
And having regular support gives us the opportunity to pause, reflect, celebrate the wins and adjust things as we go.
Because progress isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it’s simply realising that something that used to feel so difficult… doesn’t anymore. 😊
Have you ever had someone point out a positive change that you hadn’t even realised was happening?
Or perhaps you’ve experienced how regular support has helped you recognise your own progress?
I’d love to hear about it.
