Most people come to me with a list of symptoms.

What we actually work with is the pattern underneath them 🧩🔍

Behind the scenes, I map symptoms, history, stressors, habits, and nutrition to understand how everything is connected.

It is about connecting the dots between body systems, and identifying what is missing, what is in excess, and where balance has shifted.

I take a holistic approach, looking at gut health, hormones, stress, sleep, and energy as one interconnected picture.

Each journey starts with a detailed questionnaire and a 90-minute consultation where we also begin building a realistic, personalised plan.

From there, I create tailored nutrition and lifestyle guidance, with ongoing weekly support to help you stay on track as real life happens.

Where appropriate, I may include supplements and consider medications, as well as functional and NHS test results where available.

Gut, hormone and stress symptoms take time to shift, so the approach needs time too 📅

If you want a more joined-up, root-cause approach, you can get in touch or book a free 30-minute call - see link in my profile 🔗

The biggest menopause myth? ....
That you just have to put up with it.

The more I learn about perimenopause and menopause, the more I realise how much misinformation is out there.

As a pharmacist and nutrition professional, there are a few things I hear all the time that deserve a closer look. (And yes, I've believed some of them myself!)..

1. Weight gain is inevitable and there's nothing you can do about it.

2. I just need to eat less and exercise more.

3. Strength training is only for people who want to build big muscles.

4. Feeling exhausted, anxious, foggy-headed or _____ (fill in the blank) is just part of getting older.

The reality?

Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect everything from body composition and energy levels to sleep, mood, joints and appetite. Trust me, I've been there too! 🙈

But that doesn't mean you have to simply put up with it.

Understanding what's happening in your body is the first step.

The right support through personalised nutrition, movement, sleep habits and lifestyle strategies can make a huge difference to how you feel and function during this stage of life.

One of the things I'm most passionate about is helping women separate fact from fiction, so they can make informed decisions about their health and feel empowered, not overwhelmed.

What's one menopause myth you've heard that you've believed or wish would disappear? 🤔

If you're feeling confused by your symptoms, frustrated by conflicting advice, or unsure where to start with your nutrition and health goals, you're not alone.

I'd love to help you make sense of it all. Send me a message, or book a free 30-minute Health Exploration Call via the link in my profile bio. Together, we can explore what's going on and identify practical steps to help you move forward with confidence 💪🔍

I tracked my food for two weeks... and the results weren't what I expected.

Strength training has become such an important part of my own routine, especially as a woman in mid-life. We know how valuable it is for maintaining and building muscle, supporting bone health, and helping us stay strong and capable for years to come.

Every now and then, though, I like to become my own little experiment 🔬

I'm not a fan of dieting or calorie counting, but I was curious to learn more about muscle gain, body composition, and whether my own nutrition was supporting my training goals. So, for a couple of weeks, I tracked my food intake and macros.

What surprised me most?

1. I wasn't eating enough protein

2. I was eating more healthy fats than I realised

3. My portion sizes could do with a little more attention

As a pescatarian with a dairy intolerance, hitting protein targets isn't always straightforward, so it was really useful to see where the gaps were. It has also encouraged me to get more creative with my meals and try new protein-rich products and foods.

For me, this wasn't about dieting or chasing a number on the scales. It was about understanding what my body needs, reducing visceral fat, supporting muscle growth, and putting myself in the shoes of many of the women I work with who are trying to improve their nutrition alongside strength training.

One thing I know for certain is that I don't know it all. I'm always learning from others, staying up to date with the latest evidence, and continuing to develop my knowledge so I can better support my clients.

I'm currently studying a course with Dr Stacy Sims on menopause, strength training, nutrition and hormones, and I'm learning so much already 🧠

I'd love to know, have you ever tracked your food intake, not to diet, but simply to learn something about your eating habits? What surprised you most?

Anyone else stay at the gym for an extra set or carried on running because a song grabs at your nostalgic heart?

They play some good tunes at a local gym and I’ve often stayed a little longer if a favourite old track was playing. Plus I’d have a little boogie during rest periods in between sets! 💃 😆😂

Some of my faves are The Hall of Fame (The Script) and Firework (Katy Perry) 🎤🎵🎶

What song would you do another set or more exercise for? Or simply just because! 🏋️‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Ever noticed how young hedging plants need protection before they can thrive? 🌱

These tiny plants have just been planted around farmland. Right now, they look fragile. They're exposed to the weather, competing for nutrients, and vulnerable to being damaged before they've had chance to establish themselves.

But with the right support, something powerful happens...

Their roots grow deeper.
They become stronger.

Over time, they create a thriving hedge that can withstand the elements.
I often think this is exactly what happens when we're trying to improve our health.

Many people know what they "should" be doing.
Eat better.
Move more.
Sleep well.
Manage stress.

But knowing and doing are very different things.

When we're building new habits and learning to listen to our bodies, we often need support around us while those deeper roots are being established.

That's why I work closely with my clients through regular weekly check-ins, coaching and support. I'm there to listen, ask questions, help them navigate challenges, remind them of their why, educate, encourage them when motivation dips and celebrate their wins too!

We don't think twice about asking for support with our finances, our careers, or learning a new skill. So why do so many of us feel we should figure out our health alone?

During my years as a hospital pharmacist, I saw how difficult it could be for people to find the time, space, and ongoing support needed to make lasting changes. That's what inspired me to work differently.

Because real health transformation isn't built in a single encounter with a healthcare professional or a one-off appointment. It's built through consistent support, encouragement, and small steps that grow into lasting change. 💚

If you'd like to explore what that support could look like for you, and how to give your body the nourishment, tools and support it needs to repair and restore itself, book a free 30-minute Health Exploration Call with me using the link in the comments.

As a Nutritional Therapist, intermittent fasting is one of the topics I get asked about most.

And while it may have a place for some people, it’s not something I routinely recommend for women in midlife, especially during perimenopause and menopause.

This is often a very hungry season of life. Hormonal fluctuations, disrupted sleep, increased stress, changing body composition, and shifting energy needs all place greater demands on the body.

In my clinic, I see far too many women trying to override their body’s signals in the pursuit of health.

For me, nourishment will always trump punishment. 🌱

I’m a three-square-meals-a-day kinda girl. Breakfast is non-negotiable. I focus on protein, fibre, healthy fats, colourful plants, and optimal hydration. 🥗💧

Supporting your hormones, blood sugar, metabolism, muscle mass, and energy levels requires fuel, not willpower.

Midlife is not the time to see how little you can eat.
It’s the time to ask how well you can nourish yourself. ✨

I’m curious... have you tried intermittent fasting?

And if so, what was it like skipping breakfast? Did it leave you feeling energised, irritable, hungry, focused, or something else entirely?

I’m always on the look out for new products and mix-up my herbal tea collection.

Came across these fragrant Lemongrass, Citrus and Ginger teabags at Holland and Barrett….and was pleasantly surprised!

Teabags are packed full of organic ingredients that make for a very refreshing cup of tea ☕️

Both lemongrass and ginger are great for boosting digestion and reducing inflammation. Plus herbal teas are a great way to stay hydrated during the summer months.

Once you’ve made your hot herbal tea, remove the teabag (put into another empty mug) and enjoy your tea

To the other empty mug with the used teabag init, add boiling water - filling mug to only half full. Then let this cool down completely.
Remove the teabag and discard.
Put the cooled tea into a glass and top up with some cold sparkling water.
Enjoy as a flavoured sparkling drink!

Another tip: I stopped buying bottle sparkling water years ago and switched to a soda stream to make my own sparkling water from filtered water at home!

Do you ever have cooled herbal teas in the summer? What’s your favourite?

If you’ve tried every gut-friendly recipe, supplement and wellness tip you can find, yet you’re still dealing with bloating, abdominal discomfort or unpredictable digestion, you’re not alone. 💛

One of my recent clients came to me after years of trying to manage IBS-type symptoms on her own. She’d experimented with different foods, supplements and over-the-counter remedies, but nothing seemed to provide lasting improvement.

One reason digestive symptoms can feel so frustrating is that people are often looking for a single food, supplement or quick fix to blame. In reality, our digestive health is often influenced by a combination of factors including our eating habits, food choices, lifestyle and individual gut environment.

When I work with clients, I don’t start with a list of foods to remove. Instead, I focus on understanding the bigger picture. We look for patterns, explore what’s happening day to day and build a personalised approach that feels realistic and sustainable. 🌱

Three simple things you can try this week:

✅ Slow down at mealtimes and chew your food thoroughly

✅ Keep a simple food and symptom diary to spot patterns

✅ Aim to include a variety of plant foods across the week

Small changes can often reveal valuable insights. 😊

If you’d like to learn more about supporting your digestion naturally, I’ll be hosting a free Gut Health & Digestion Webinar tomorrow. Join me from 1-2pm and discover practical tips you can start using straight away.
