Before we say goodbye to the month of July, we wanted to take time to recognise and turn our attention to Disability Pride Month, a time to honour and celebrate disabled people and challenge ableism. 🌟

Beginning in Boston, USA in 1990, Disability Pride Month commemorates the fundamental signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and has since grown to be observed internationally, including here in the UK since 2015! 🤩

Please join us in celebrating Disability Pride Month, including the people with disabilities, their individuality and their amazing contributes to society! 🥰💫

🌍⚽ What a fantastic Thursday we had celebrating the World Cup! 🎉

We started by researching foods from all around the world, learning about different countries and their delicious delicacies. Then it was time for a shopping trip to hunt down as many tasty treats as we could find! 🛒🌎

The result? An incredible World Cup buffet packed with flavours from across the globe! 🌮🥟🍣🥖🧀🍇 It was a feast fit for champions, and everyone loved trying something new.

Safe to say... we may have gone slightly overboard with the food! 😂 But no complaints here—it meant we had plenty left over for our lovely picnic in the park yesterday too! ☀️🧺💚

A day full of learning, laughter, good food and even better company. What more could you ask for? ❤️

☀️ Hot weather wasn't going to stop us today!

We headed out early to the shops, picked up plenty of spuds, then got busy chopping, prepping and cooking some delicious jacket potatoes with a variety of tasty toppings. 🥔🧀🥗

After enjoying lunch together upstairs at the Hub under the air conditioning, we spent the afternoon getting creative with craft projects, chilling out and having lots of laughs. 💛

A day full of good food, creativity and great company – making the most of every moment, whatever the weather! ☀️✨

Did you know that this week is Learning Disability Week? 🌟

Led by the UK-based charity Mencap, the theme for this year is "Do you see me?", which is all about people with learning disabilities being seen, heard and valued.

The campaign ultimately celebrates all of the achievements in which people with a learning disability bring to society, as well as raising awareness and challenging the barriers and stigma in which they face.

How can you get involved? Glad you asked! 🤩 Here are just a few ways you can help raise awareness:

Talking about and celebrate the amazing achievements that people with a learning disability are doing within your community. 🗣️

Spread awareness of Learning Disability Week in any way you can - yes, social media counts! 📱

Download and share Mencap's Learning Disability Week resources, available from their website. 💻

Campaign with Mencap to challenge the barriers that people with a learning disability may face.

Donate to Mencap and help them continue to campaign for people with a learning disability. 💷

Rain? What rain? 🌧️🚐💪

Yesterday’s allotment mission was a soggy one, but the gang absolutely smashed it! We hired a van, brought in the muscle - Mr P (seen enjoying a bacon sandwich in the van 😜) 💪 and collected a shed, table & chairs, plus around 20 wooden palletts ready to bring our allotment plans to life 🌱🪵

A huge shoutout to one very lovely young lady - Miss B 👏✨ With amazing communication skills and growing independence, she worked her magic — securing us a discount on the van hire and speaking to customer services at Jewsons to sort our pallets. Superstar! 🌟

Despite the wet weather, everyone pulled together, got the heavy stuff down to the allotment, and now the real work begins… watch this space! 🌿🏡

Yesterday’s mission: Operation Shed Rescue 🛠️😄

A huge thank you to the kind person who generously donated this shed to our allotment — we’re so grateful!

The lads got stuck in dismantling it yesterday, and special mention has to go to Paul, who turned into a flat-pack wizard with the drill and had the whole thing down in record time 🔧👏

From “shed standing” to “shed flat pack” in no time at all — great work, team! Now… onto the allotment and the fun part begins 🌱🏡

This week, the people we support have been getting their hands dirty potting seeds and plants, getting everything ready for our allotment adventures 🌱🪴

From careful planting to enthusiastic watering (and a few muddy fingers 😄), we’re excited to watch everything grow over the coming weeks & momths.
