๐Ÿ’œAs we mark both and , we're reminded of a simple truth: while everyone's experiences are different, the need to feel seen, heard, accepted, and supported is universal.

For many people, opening up about their mental health can feel difficult. Whether it's societal expectations, stigma, discrimination, loneliness, or the pressure to "just get on with it", too many people still feel they have to struggle in silence.

โœจ Here are 3 simple ways to support mental wellbeing today:
๐Ÿ’œ Check in on someone you care about: a simple message or conversation can make a real difference.
๐Ÿ’œ Open up about how you're feeling: you don't have to carry everything on your own.
๐Ÿ’œPractise self-compassion: give yourself the same kindness you'd offer a friend.

No matter who you are, how you identify, or what you're carrying right now, your feelings matter. True strength isn't facing everything alone; it's knowing when to reach out, speak up, and let others in. ๐Ÿ’œ

If you need someone to listen, our SOS Freephone Helpline is here for you:
๐Ÿ“ž 0808 115 1505 ๐Ÿ•— Monโ€“Fri: 8pmโ€“midnight | Satโ€“Sun: 4pmโ€“midnight

Together, let's build a world where everyone feels safe to be themselves, ask for help, and start the conversation.

Happy Friday, ! ๐ŸŒŸ
As we close out the week, remember that taking care of your mind is just as important as the work on your to-do list. Mental wellbeing isn't just about massive changes; itโ€™s about the small, everyday actions you take to protect your peace.
This weekend, try to prioritize one tiny act of self-care:
โ˜• Taking a mindful coffee break
๐Ÿ“ต Unplugging for an hour
๐ŸŒณ A short walk to clear your head
๐Ÿ’ค Giving yourself permission to rest completely
And if things get overwhelming, know that support is available:
Our Freephone helpline (0808 115 1505) is open on Sat-Sun (4pm-midnight)
So tell us, what is one thing you are doing for you this weekend? Let us know in the comments below! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ’ฌ

Shout out to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) for successfully organising the Deliberate Fire Summit 2026 last week - a fantastic example of what can be achieved when organisations come together to share learning, expertise and lived experience. ๐Ÿ’œ

Prevention starts with understanding, collaboration and early intervention. Thank you to everyone involved in creating space for these important conversations. For anyone affected by self-harm, suicidal thoughts or emotional distress, SOS is here to listen: ๐Ÿ“ž 0808 115 1505.

A huge THANK YOU to the incredible Bodkin Lane ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŽถ

On 1st May, our , they brought the energy, soul, and dancing shoes to The Water Rats, Kingโ€™s Cross, raising an amazing ยฃ2400 to support two charities close to their hearts, including Silence of Su***de SOS, in memory of their drummer's wife, Emma Wilding๐Ÿ’œ

Performing publicly for the first time since Christmas 2019, the night was a sold-out success filled with music, community, remembrance, and kindness. Weโ€™re so grateful to everyone who came along, donated, danced, sang and helped raise awareness for su***de prevention. ๐Ÿ’œ

At SOS, we always say fundraising doesnโ€™t have to look one way.
You can run, bake, walk, cook, sailโ€ฆ or sing your way through supporting su***de prevention.

The sunshine can be welcome, but during periods of extreme heat, it's important to remember that our mental wellbeing can be affected too. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

Hot weather can leave us feeling more tired, irritable, anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained; especially if we're managing our mental health or taking medication.
A gentle reminder to look after yourself today:

๐Ÿ’ง Stay hydrated
๐Ÿ  Keep cool and avoid peak heat where possible
๐Ÿ‰ Choose light, cooling foods
๐Ÿง˜ Take things at a slower pace
๐Ÿ˜ด Rest when your body needs it
๐Ÿ“ฑ Check in on someone who may be struggling

How are you coping with the heat?
๐Ÿ’œ Leave a heart if this resonates.
๐Ÿ”„ Share with someone who could use the reminder today.

If things are feeling overwhelming, our Freephone helpline (0808 115 1505) is here to listen.
