Our FLU & COVID vaccination booking system is now LIVE at Woodlands Pharmacy, so if you’re eligible, you can book your appointment with us.

🦠 FLU VACCINE ELIGIBILITY

From 1 October 2026:
🧑‍🧒Children aged 2 or 3 years of age
🤰 All pregnant ladies
👵 Adults aged 65 years and over
🫁 People aged 18–64 in eligible clinical risk groups, including:
• Chronic respiratory disease, such as asthma or COPD
• Chronic heart or vascular disease
• Chronic kidney or liver disease
• Chronic neurological conditions
• Learning disabilities
• Diabetes
• Adrenal insufficiency
• Asplenia or spleen dysfunction
• Weakened immune systems
• Morbidly obese adults aged 16+ with a BMI of 40 or above
• People experiencing homelessness aged 16+
• Household contacts of immunocompromised individuals
• People living in long-stay residential care
• Carers
• Frontline staff

From 1 December 2026
👧👦 All primary school-aged children — Reception to Year 6
🎒 All secondary school-aged children — Year 7 to Year 11
🏫 Eligible children in special educational needs (SEN) schools may also be vaccinated.

🦠 COVID-19 VACCINE ELIGIBILITY

The 2026 COVID autumn vaccination programme is available for:
• 👴🏻Adults aged 75 years and over
• 🏨Residents in care homes for older adults
• 💉Individuals aged 18+ who are immunosuppressed

Today we’re saying goodbye to our fantastic delivery driver, Kevin, as he starts an exciting new chapter in his career.

A huge congratulations to our Pre-Registration Pharmacist, Holly, on passing her final GPhC registration assessment! 🌟

This is an incredible achievement and reflects all of the hard work, dedication, and commitment Holly has shown throughout her training year. We are so proud of everything she has accomplished and are delighted to celebrate this milestone with her.

🦠💉 MenB Vaccine available at Woodlands Pharmacy from 20th July 💉🦠

Meningococcal group B (MenB) disease is now the most common cause of meningococcal disease in the UK. Vaccination helps protect against most strains of group B meningococcal bacteria.

You may be eligible for the free MenB vaccine if you are:

✔️ In school year 13 (born between 01/09/2007 and 31/08/2008)
✔️ Born on or after 21/07/2001 and starting university as an undergraduate for the first time in Autumn 2026
✔️ Born on or after 21/07/2001 and moving into further education accommodation or halls of residence for the first time in Autumn 2026

The MenB vaccine is an important way to help protect yourself before starting university or living in shared student accommodation.

📢 Important Delivery Update – Friday 22nd May

Due to road closures for the BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026, we will unfortunately have to temporarily suspend deliveries to Penshaw, Shiney Row and surrounding areas on Friday 22nd May ONLY.
Other areas will not be affected.

🚚 Normal delivery schedules to these areas will resume on Tuesday 26th May following the bank holiday.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding 💚

We’ve recently introduced new email and text notification services to keep you better informed about your prescriptions 💊

👉 Collection patients
You’ll receive an email when your medication is ready to collect in the pharmacy.

🚚 Delivery patients
You’ll receive text message updates throughout the day:
• When your delivery is scheduled
• When it’s out with the driver
• When it has been delivered

This service is still in the process of being rolled out, so not all patients will receive notifications just yet.
