HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR SKIN LATELY? ☀️

We’ve had such a wonderful summer, with lots of sunshine and time spent outdoors and although we’ve hopefully all been enjoying it, it’s also a good reminder of how important it is to look after and regularly check our skin. 💙

Take a few minutes to look over your skin and keep an eye out for anything that may have changed.

🔎 A new mole or skin lesion
🔎 A change in the size, shape or colour of an existing mole
🔎 Any area that is sore, bleeding, scabbing or simply isn’t healing

Knowing your own skin is so important. If you notice something new or different, don’t ignore it. Most skin changes are harmless, but anything that concerns you is worth getting checked.

If you have a mole or skin lesion that you’re unsure about, I offer Map My Mole skin checks through Blemish Clinic with Melissa, giving you the opportunity to have the lesion professionally assessed before considering any cosmetic removal.

If you have any questions about a lesion or would like to find out more about Map My Mole, please feel free to get in touch. 💙

Understanding Intradermal Naevi: Assessment and Follow-Up

Every skin lesion is unique, which is why a thorough assessment is an essential first step before considering any cosmetic treatment.

For this client, an intradermal naevus was assessed through my partnership with Map My Mole before treatment was considered. This helps ensure the lesion is appropriate for cosmetic management and that client safety remains the priority.

Following assessment, an initial diathermy treatment was carried out. A review appointment has been arranged for six weeks’ time to monitor the healing process and determine whether any further treatment is appropriate.

Healing is an important part of every treatment journey. Following the recommended aftercare advice helps support the skin’s natural healing process, and every client will heal at their own pace.

This post is shared to provide information about the assessment and treatment process. It is not intended as individual medical advice.

If you have a blemish you’d like assessed, please book a consultation. Every lesion is carefully evaluated, and where appropriate, assessed through Map My Mole before treatment is considered.

Wart, what wart!

This is a great example of what can be achieved with cryotherapy for wart removal.

Cryotherapy is a safe and effective treatment that uses a fine jet of nitrous oxide to freeze the wart. The freezing process forms ice crystals within the cells, causing them to break down so your body can naturally remove the damaged tissue over time.

Warts can be stubborn, but with the correct diagnosis and treatment plan, they can often be treated successfully. Every lesion is first assessed during a consultation to ensure it is suitable for treatment and to determine the most appropriate course of action.

If you have a wart that’s bothering you, I’d be happy to help.

Did you know?

The NHS and GP practices no longer routinely remove benign skin lesions for cosmetic reasons. This includes many common concerns such as:

• Skin tags
• Seborrhoeic keratoses (seb k’s)
• Cherry angiomas (blood spots)
• Age spots
• Warts
• Verrucas
• Benign moles
…and many other harmless skin lesions.

If you’ve been told your lesion is benign but it’s catching on clothing, affecting your confidence, or simply something you’d like removed, I’m here to help.

At Melissa King Blemish Removal Clinic, I offer professional consultations to assess your lesion and determine whether it’s suitable for treatment. If there’s ever any doubt about what a lesion is, I can also carry out an assessment through Map My Mole, where your images are reviewed by UK consultant dermatologists before any treatment is considered.

Your safety always comes first.

If you’ve been putting off having a skin lesion removed, book a consultation and let’s discuss the safest and most appropriate option for you.

Why a consultation?

Your consultation is one of the most important parts of the entire process. It allows me to:

▫️Understand your medical history and any medications that may affect treatment or healing.
▫️Learn about your skin history and how your skin typically heals.
▫️Carefully assess the lesion to establish what it is and whether it is suitable for cosmetic removal.
▫️Identify any lesions that should be medically assessed first and refer you for further investigation where appropriate.
▫️Explain exactly what to expect before, during and after treatment, including the healing process and aftercare.

Healing is just as important as the treatment itself, and understanding what to expect helps you achieve the very best outcome.

Your safety will always come first. If I have any concerns about a lesion, I won’t remove it cosmetically and will instead recommend the appropriate medical pathway.

Because when it comes to your skin, it’s not just about removing a blemish, it’s about doing it safely, responsibly and with your best interests at heart.

📍Consultations are required before all blemish removal treatments.

Not every skin lesion is what it appears to be!

Before removal, it’s essential to have the lesion properly assessed and understand exactly what is being treated.

This is why consultation is the first and most important step, ensuring the right advice, the right pathway and the right care for your skin.

It’s also important to choose a practitioner who understands the importance of appropriate assessment, knows when further investigation is needed, and always puts your skin health first.

If you have any concerns regarding your skin and possible unknown lesions then don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Your skin health will always come first!

As a blemish removal practitioner, my role is not simply to remove a lesion, it is to ensure every area is properly assessed and that treatment is appropriate and safe.

This is why I have partnered with Map My Mole and offer this service within my clinic.

During your consultation, if a lesion requires further assessment before any cosmetic treatment is considered, I can capture detailed clinical images and submit these securely to the Map My Mole consultant dermatology team for specialist review.

This provides an additional level of reassurance, helping to determine whether a lesion is suitable for cosmetic removal or whether further medical investigation is recommended. In most cases, a dermatology report is returned within 24–48 hours.

Having access to this service allows me to provide a more comprehensive approach to blemish removal. Combining expert assessment, appropriate treatment planning and patient safety at every stage.

Not every lesion should be removed, and knowing when to treat and when to refer is a fundamental part of responsible skin care.

Your confidence matters BUT your skin health always comes first.

Skin Tag, from concern to confidence ✨

Every skin journey starts with a concern. My goal is to help you feel informed, reassured and confident from your very first consultation through to your final result.

This gentleman visited my clinic with a skin tag beneath the left eye that they had been wanting to remove.

These images show the complete journey:
▫️Before treatment
▫️Immediately after treatment
▫️Beautifully healed at 6 weeks

This lesion was treated using Sterex Advanced Cosmetic Procedures ( diathermy) a precise technique performed with a fine sterile probe to safely remove a range of benign skin blemishes.

Every treatment begins with a thorough consultation. This allows me to assess the lesion, discuss your medical and skin history, determine whether treatment is appropriate or if referral is needed, and guide you through the expected healing process so you know exactly what to expect.

For me, blemish removal is about more than removing a lesion. It’s about providing safe, professional care and helping you feel more confident in your own skin.

If you have a skin tag or another skin blemish you’d like professionally assessed, I’d love to help.

Message me to book your consultation and begin your own skin confidence journey.

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a highly effective and safe procedure used to freeze and destroy benign skin lesions.

Using controlled application of medical-grade nitrous oxide, cryotherapy works by rapidly freezing the targeted tissue. The freezing process causes ice crystals to form within the cells, disrupting and rupturing the cell membranes. This destroys the unwanted tissue, allowing the body’s natural healing process to remove the treated lesion over time.

Cryotherapy can be used to treat a variety of common benign skin concerns, including:

Although cryotherapy is a quick treatment with minimal downtime, healing varies from person to person. I will always explain the process, aftercare and what to expect throughout your skin journey.

Professional skin assessment. Safe treatment. Expert care.

Have a skin concern you would like to understand better? Book your consultation with Melissa today and take the first step towards healthier, clearer skin.

Skin Tag Removal.

Skin tags are one of the most common benign skin lesions and are something I regularly assess and treat at Melissa King Blemish Removal Clinic.

What are skin tags?
Skin tags (also known as soft fibromas) are small, soft growths of excess skin that develop from the upper layers of the skin. They are extremely common and are usually harmless.

Where do skin tags appear?
They are often found in areas where skin rubs against skin or clothing, including:
▫️Neck
▫️Underarms
▫️Groin area
▫️Eyelids
▫️Under the breasts

Why do people choose to remove skin tags?
Although harmless, skin tags can become irritating if they catch on clothing, jewellery or during everyday activities. Many clients also choose removal for cosmetic reasons, simply because they would prefer smoother-looking skin.

How are skin tags removed?
Following a thorough consultation, skin tags can be safely removed using a precise cautery technique to treat the base of the skin tag, allowing for controlled and accurate removal.

Many skin tags can be removed in a single appointment, depending on the size, location and number being treated.

Every treatment begins with a consultation to ensure the lesion is suitable for removal and that your treatment journey is safe and appropriate.
