Is low confidence getting in the way of success?

This week I have been helping clients to feel more confident at work in meetings, to be able to get the job they desire, and to speak confidently with their peers.ou own yours.

This week I have been helping clients to feel more confident at work in meetings, to be able to get the job they desire and to speak confidently with their peers.

They know what they need to do, but they were not coming across confidently. They needed to feel it more, when you feel an emotion a way of being it shows up in your body language and your voice. This is what others see and hear.

My client felt small, childlike at times and her voice was soft and quiet.

So, to tap into her inner confidence she connected with a lioness. When she did this her voice changed, her posture changed, and she moved with sureness, courage, and focus. Her face lit up; eyes bright she was ready for anything.

Here are 3 tips to FEELING and BEING more Confident.
1. Think about your body language. Feel strong at your core.
2. Use the power of the pause. Not PAWs! Pace your voice and when you ask a question or make a statement, pause…powerful you hold your ground.
3. Connect with the feeling, use an image to help you the feeling of a lion, or connect with your superhero

It is marvelous the peace and tranquility it brings.

Because I have a dog, I am out walking each day, not just at the weekend but every day, and indeed the way I start my day. I enjoy the time to reflect and just to be mindful and switch off.

Coaching is not helping you to overcome feeling stuck & plagued by self-doubt.
‘Heal’ is for you If you feel like something is holding you back, but you can’t quite put your finger on it.
You are-

❌Struggling to change negative thoughts about yourself and your capabilities.

❌You don’t feel on the same level as others, childlike and like you know less, you hold back and find it difficult to be assertive.

❌Held back by procrastination, and fear of living up to expectations.

My client didn’t get the job she had wanted, she knows that it is the confidence that holds her back! AND that was the feedback she got, that she does not appear confident to lead a team.

It came across! She had the desire, knows she can do it, but what she actually feels like is, small, insignificant, & childlike.

When she is in a new or challenging situation, she communicates in a slight but perceptible way how she feels. From the softening of her voice, the shrinking of her body language, the change in her facial expression, that small childlike feeling seeps out.

My tip for this
1. Stand with your feet firmly on the ground & stand straight up, shoulders back and feeling all the confidence in the world. Say “I am confident, I am worthy”. Then squeeze your thumb and finger together and anchor in this feeling.

2. Deal with the inner child & help her to feel worthy. I help people to feel confidence and self-worth from the inside out & add this to their knowledge, experience, and talent. DM me if you would like to chat.

No matter what I do, I don’t feel confident, I feel small!

Confidence is absolutely something you can work on!

• Practice and practice some more, repetition reinforcing to the mind that you can do it.
• Step out of your comfort zone and try new things
• Just do it when we have the experience then this helps the mind to develop what is called a ‘mastery of experience’ A Bandura.

But what if you still do not feel as though you are confident, what if it feels like there is something else that holds you back, that stops you from being the best self? You know you have the knowledge and skills, but you just can’t seem to portray yourself confidently with the presence that means you gain others' respect.

What do you feel like instead?

Many of my clients will say that other people would not think they had a problem with confidence. But they feel different inside like there is a smaller persona that is reserved, quiet, timid, and worried even. The inner persona feels vulnerable and finds it difficult to believe her voice is going to be heard.

Confidence can be impacted by limiting beliefs.
