CAN YOU HELP?

** 4 People Wanted for FREE KINESIOLOGY health check as part of a Kinesiology Examination on 18 Feb. **

At 4U Pilates, I run a 6-month training programme which culminates in a day long exam including a 2 hour practical assessment where students are required to demonstrate their Kinesiology abilities in order to gain their qualification.

You would be required for 2 hours (2pm-4pm) on Sunday 18th February at my Studio in Somerton.

If you are interested, please WhatsApp me asap on 07973 852529 and quote so I know you're replying to this request. The first 4 people to reply are in :)

WHAT TO EXPECT
Your Kinesiology health check will be 121 although the room will be set up to accommodate 4 students to conducted the treatments simultaneously. This will allow myself, and other examiners from the College of Functional Kinesiology, to supervise the individual 121 sessions, ensuring that your Kinesiology Treatment is conducted correctly and you receive correct information.

This is a great way for you to experience Functional Kinesiology whilst allowing training students to complete their examination under careful supervision.

Please note that before you attend, I will ask you to complete a health questionnaire online so that I can be aware of any medical conditions or needs.

If you want to be one of our candidates or know someone who would, WhatsApp me asap on 07973 852529 and quote so I know you're replying to this request.

Happy New Year!

What opportunity is knocking on your door, in 2024?

New year always brings a time for reflection, what do you want to take with you and what do you want to change?

My 121 health & life coaching sessions can focus on any aspect of your physical or emotional wellbeing. And it isn't just for fitness or health goals! It can be a life goal, life changes, hormones nutrition, menopause, help overcoming an emotional trauma or working through a 'cross roads' decision point.

Naturally, we can support any health goals by creating a tailored plan of action - whether that's 121 movement training using Pilates and MELT to strengthen and support, or using Kinesiology or Massage to help your body to regain balance and restore its natural healing abilities - or a combination of all.

Ready to do this?
If you would like to know more you can contact me (Zoisa) by WhatsApp or DM,

Christmas advent is in full swing - Ads on the TV, shopping for presents or food food, Christmas parties....

But for those approaching this Christmas without a loved one - whether it's the first year or it's been many years - I know this can be a really tough time.

And I want to take this moment to tell you that it really IS ok NOT to be ok at Christmas.

We can feel that there are 'rules' or expectations about how we should act at Christmas - we feel it's supposed to be a time when you're happy, happy, happy, full of good will and cheer.

And yet, if you've lost someone important, you may feel that nothing could be further from how you feel right now. And that the energy it takes to pretend you're "Doing OK", putting on that smile because "they wouldn't want you to be sad" - can be exhausting.... I hear you.

You may not want to sit in a room of family or friends with festive cheer but feel you must. And whilst sometimes, family protocol or obligations mean we have to, I offer you the opportunity to take a moment now and think about what YOU want to do.

Perhaps you can do things differently this year?

If not, can you carve out a moment - even if it's just 5 minutes, 10 minutes, an hour - to stop, pause and feel whatever you need to? Whether you want to sit quietly on your own and remember the lost loved one, or take a walk alone, or get out all your all photos and allow yourself to remember and just let you emotions be what they will be.

Perhaps you want to create a new routine to remember them - a picture with a candle, a few moments in the day to remember, to tell stories, to place flowers.

Christmas can be hard. There is no manual for getting through this. Losing a loved one changes us, it changes how we want to experience Christmas, it changes what we hoped for the future, and how we want to experience the future now. And it's OK to allow yourself to acknowledge this and make changes.

There are many bereavement services available if you need help such as; Marie Curie, Cruse Bereavement, We Hear You, Mind, Samaritans, who you can call over Christmas.

If you want to work 121 with me to help you with your grief, please do get in touch.

I've just completed teaching weekend 4 of my Functional Kinesiology Foundation Course. This year the training seems to be coming "thick and fast" but my students - once again - are just soaking up all the new techniques and concepts. I'm so proud of them!

This weekend we've been learning about the third 'realm' of Kinesiology BEES - 'emotions' - and how this impacts on our health and wellbeing (and it's not just our mental health but our physical health too!!)

When I was learning about the 'Emotional' aspect of Kinesiology and health myself some years ago now, the ‘STAND OUT’ moment was EXPERIENCING the mindset techniques.

The ‘WOW’ factor came from the SIMPLICITY of the technique, but also in the DIFFERENCE it made, seeing and feeling the CHANGE.

My 'WIN' was REALISING that EMOTIONS are 'E'NERGY in 'MOTION'.

Did you just read that twice? Energy in motion?

Overcoming Injury Limitations - Regaining Your Strength and Mobility…

Injuries and limitations - are they the same thing? NO!

Maybe you have had an injury, a trip, a fall, and depending on the degree of impact or trauma caused to that area, the injury might limit how you use that limb/part of the body. Perhaps you've broken something and had to have it in plaster or pinned whilst the body is going through the recuperation process, so yes, there is a limitation in terms of what you are able to do and the body will likey have to compensate for a while in some way.

But what's important - regardless of whether it's an injury that you've experienced, or a surgery - is to LISTEN to the body.

I say it all the time whether I'm doing exercise classes or giving a Kinesiology session or massage - LISTEN to your body. What is it telling you?

I use my hands and eyes to "listen" when I'm doing Kinesiology (muscle testing) or massaging. I'm looking to see what's going on with your alignment, the relationship between all the different areas of the body when you're moving that arm, when you're moving that limb. Looking or a point where the body is either compensating or more bits are moving than need to.

So, how do we support the body in recovery? It's those simple life basics:
🫢Are you fed?
🥛Are you hydrated?
🥱Have you slept?
😵‍💫How many other stressors in your life?
🥴Are there any blood sugar imbalances?
🤕Where are you in the healing/recovery journey?
🫶What are you doing to support that area of the body?

All of that is important, you you are able to listen to, understand and then adapt and adjust to support your body, when you need to.

Are you listening to your body?

Over the month, my videos and blogs have focussed around emotions and how they have a physical impact on our bodies, not just our mental health.

At the end of this week, I'll be teaching my Functional Kinesiology Students all about the "emotional" realm in Kinesiology and it's impact on our health and wellbeing. For those of you who follow me regularly, you'll recognise that the "emotional" element is matched closely to the 'heart system' (one of the four body systems in my integrated health model).

As Kinesiologists, when a client comes to us having experienced (or still experiencing) a very emotional situation in life, often this presents itself as a reaction in muscles like the shoulders and the scapular, but also in the stomach...

If you want to understand how your emotions affect not just your thoughts, but your muscles and your gut, check out my video blog from Feb.....

In my final video about the heart system, I look at your Health and wellbeing in relation to your emotions. In particular, how emotions affects your thoughts, your muscles and your gut..... As Kinesiologists, when a client comes to us having experienced (or still experiencing) a very emotional situa...
