SRS Fitness - Personal Training Experienced PT with my own private studio and a passion for health, fitness and nutrition. I love helping people improve their lives and gain confidence.

SRS Fitness - Based from my private, fully equipped studio in Welwyn I provide one to one or "partner" training sessions for busy people who are looking for someone who understands the ever-changing demands of work, family commitments and life. A little bit about me... ​ I am a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and gained my NVQ Level 2 “Fitness Instructor” and NVQ Level 3 “P

ersonal Trainer & Business Planning” qualifications through Lifetime Training – the largest training provider within the health and fitness sector delivering the greatest number of apprenticeships and NVQ programmes as well as being the first in the leisure sector to achieve the Training Quality Standard. I also hold a Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Sports & Exercise Nutrition which I completed this year. To further my studies and broaden the services I can offer I have just begun a diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy alongside a second diploma in shiatsu massage. ​ I set up SRS Fitness in 2013 to enable me to provide a truly "personal" service, not affiliated with any commercial gym, allowing me to run my business in line with my own vision and values. I firmly believe health and fitness should be available to all and I am also a huge advocate of exercise and its benefits when living with depression and anxiety. I have an established, long term client base and gain more than 50% of my clients through word of mouth and recommendations. This is because client satisfaction is paramount to me and, I believe, critical to the long term success of my business. I strive to provide an outstanding service and have measures in place to ensure I can regularly gather feedback regarding the quality of service I provide. I have significant and current experience of working with children and young people as well as those with sports specific goals, older clients and of course, both male and female clients from a variety of backgrounds. ​ I employ a number of strategies in order to improve your fitness, overhaul your diet (as necessary) and help you achieve the physique you are striving for whilst also taking into account your whole wellbeing. My approach is firm but encouraging. I will be available to support you all the way - not just during our sessions. In return I expect absolute commitment from each client. ​

🧡WE ALL HAVE THE SAME 24 HOURS IN A DAY

(Why this is my least favourite, overused fitness “motivator”).

“We all have the same 24 hours in a day”

Yes.

Yes, we do.

But

⚡️We don’t all have the same energy.
👶 We don’t all have the same responsibilities.
We don’t all have the same support, circumstances, stress levels, or demands on our time.

🕰️ Time might be equal.
Everything else isn’t.

Stop comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel. Do the best you can with the time, energy and circumstances you have today.

😇 Consistency isn’t about doing everything perfectly.

It’s about adjusting when life happens and still finding a way to move forward.

The people who get results aren’t the ones who have perfect days.

They’re the ones who keep showing up on the imperfect ones. 🥇

🧡 POST 40, SOMETHING SHIFTED FOR ME

For years, I went after quick fixes. I trained (very hard!) to “burn off calories,” I restricted, I restarted every Monday… and I still never felt good enough.

But when I finally slowed down, actually listened to my body and started focusing on strength, fuel, and habits that really fit my life… something changed.

My (90s skinny chic) mindset shifted first:
✨I stopped punishing myself with workouts.
✨I learned to eat in a way that gave me energy.
✨I started seeing strength as proof of growth, not just a number on a scale.

(This is very hard when you’ve grown up in the 90s.)

And now the outside is catching up. My body is stronger, my mind is calmer, and I feel in control. 💪🏻

That’s why this is exactly what I want for every client I work with.

Not another “diet”, not another restart, but a chance to finally feel enough in your own eyes. To grow in confidence, both physical and mental. To enjoy calmness and peace of mind. 🧠

My coaching is about so much more than “getting fitter” or simply “losing weight”.

It’s about prioritising you when you’ve spent a lifetime prioritising everyone else.

It’s focusing on what you need to thrive and feel your most confident self.

And most of all, it’s time for you. Time to get your life back. 🫶🏻

🧡THINGS THE INTERNET NEEDS TO STOP PRETENDING ARE TRUE

1️⃣Motivation needs to be high to stay consistent.

👉🏻Nobody feels motivated every day.
You need routines, not constant motivation.

2️⃣The more you workout, the quicker the results

👉🏻Recovery is part of progress.
You don’t grow during the workout; you grow from recovering from it.

3️⃣Missing a workout screws your training plan up

👉🏻One missed session changes nothing.
Quitting because of one missed session? That’s the problem.

4️⃣Cutting out food groups will get fast results

👉🏻A plan you hate won’t last.
Balance beats restriction every time.

5️⃣More sweating = more fat burned

👉🏻Sweat is your body cooling itself down and bears no relation to the effectiveness of your workout.

6️⃣“Earning” your food

👉🏻Exercise is not punishment for eating.
You’re allowed lunch even if you didn’t train today. Let’s not perpetuate the binge/restrict cycle.

7️⃣Confidence comes after weight loss

👉🏻A lot of people lose weight and still hate themselves.
Confidence is deeper than body size.

8️⃣Maintenance requires discipline 24/7

👉🏻Flexibility is what ensures ANY plan is sustainable, whether that’s fat loss, muscle gain or maintenance.

🔑 The real goal?
Feeling strong.
Feeling energised.
Feeling mentally healthier.
And building habits you can actually keep.

Most people don’t need more punishment, restriction or negative self talk when they’re already trying their best.

They need structure, support, realistic habits, and to speak to themselves with more kindness.

🧡A REMINDER IF YOU’RE NEW TO THE GYM / GETTING BACK INTO TRAINING

1. No one is looking at you
2. Wear what’s comfy not what you think you “should” wear
3. Nobody started as an expert
4. There is no right/wrong/best/worst workout
5. Everyone can continue to learn more
6. What you eat matters more than EVERYTHING you do in the gym
7. A smile goes a long way (you might just get one back!)
8. You should be pushing, not just going through the motions
9. Manage your own expectations
10. Sleep and recovery is as important as the gym work
11. Set goals other than weight related ones
