Itโ€™s National Picnic Week and what a perfect excuse to take your lunch outside.

In all the excitement, children may want to explore but itโ€™s important to encourage them to sit down when eating to reduce the risk of choking.

Plus, donโ€™t forget choking is silent, so be sure to watch them whilst theyโ€™re eating so you can react quickly if they get into trouble.

Whatโ€™s your favourite picnic snack for your children? Let us know in the comments.

๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’› Child Safety Week: Staying Safe Around Dogs ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿถ

Dogs can be loving family pets, but itโ€™s important to teach little ones how to stay safe around them.
Here are some simple tips to help keep children safe:
โœ… Never leave young children alone with a dog
โœ… Teach gentle behaviour โ€“ no pulling tails, ears, or fur
โœ… Avoid disturbing dogs while theyโ€™re eating, sleeping, or caring for puppies
โœ… Show children how to approach calmly โ€“ let the dog sniff first
โœ… Watch for warning signs like growling, stiff body, or backing away
๐Ÿšจ Even the friendliest dog can react if they feel scared or uncomfortable.

๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ’™ Child Safety Week: Stay Safe at Bath Time ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ›
Bath time is a lovely way to bond with your baby โ€“ but itโ€™s also a time when extra care is needed.
Here are some simple tips to keep your little one safe:
โœ… Never leave your baby unattended โ€“ even for a second
โœ… Check water temperature โ€“ aim for around 37ยฐC (warm, not hot)
โœ… Keep everything you need within reach before you start
โœ… Use shallow water โ€“ a few centimetres is enough
โœ… Support your baby at all times โ€“ they canโ€™t sit up safely on their own
๐Ÿšจ Remember: babies can drown in just a small amount of water, quickly and silently.
