Did you miss our Sandwell Talking Tips? Read them below or check out the graphic to familiarise yourself and try them at home over the summer.

Watch what your child tells you and put the words in!
This shows your child that you are listening and trying to understand even if they aren’t talking yet.

Offer choices
Offering simple choices (like banana or yoghurt? / blue cup or red cup?) helps your baby learn new words and practise the ones they already know. It also gives them chances to try out little sentences as they grow.

Share books and stories
Sharing books and stories is a great way to introduce new words they might not hear in everyday conversation.
