Thank you. The first Stretch + Sound on Wednesday 21 October is now fully booked.

I'm so touched by how many of you wanted a slower, gentler hour, and lovely to see some familiar faces coming back too.

The next one is Wednesday 18 November, 7 to 8pm, at West Hallam Village Hall. Book here: https://coevolveyoga.simplybook.it/v2/

If you'd like to join the waiting list for October in case a space opens up, just send me a message.

Warmly, Isobel

Your body is paying for your stress, right down to your cells.

I've been listening to Dr Martin Picard. His lab's early research suggests stress makes our cells burn extra energy, energy they'd otherwise use for repair. And it's less the stressful moment, more the replaying, that costs us.

Short bursts of challenge, then properly letting go. That's what we practise on the mat, and why savasana isn't the bit to skip.

Vinyasa on Sunday, next Stretch + Sound: Wednesday 18 November.

Warmly, Isobel

Hours at a desk pull your shoulders forward. This 4-move sequence works on both sides of the problem: strengthen the back, soften the front.

Save this for tomorrow's desk day.

Shoulder cat-cow ×5. Works the muscle that holds your shoulder blades flat against your ribs.
Shoulder pigeon, 5 breaths each side. Opens the front of the shoulder.
Locust, hands interlaced. Hold for 5 breaths. Draws your shoulder blades together and opens the chest.
Locust, Y arms. Hold for 5 breaths. Draws your shoulder blades down your back.

Finish lying back over a bolster or rolled blanket. Stiff neck? Pop a folded blanket under your head.

Strong back, soft front.

If anything hurts, stop.

"Self care doesn't need to be complicated."

Caroline, one of my Sunday regulars, sent me this and I couldn't have put it better:

"Sometimes the smallest choices we make help bring us back to ourselves which for me is important given how busy our lives are especially as I sit in a car for long periods. Spending an hour of my Sunday with the guidance of Isobel and the company of the other wonderful ladies is all I need. It's helped me have a clearer mindset along with improving my strength and flexibility. The sound baths take relaxation to another level and I love joining the yoga retreats which really rejuvenate my mind and body, which breaks the cycle of daily stresses."

If an hour on a Sunday sounds like what you need too, message me SOUND.

Wednesday evenings are usually for collapsing on the sofa. This is the better version of that.

**New in West Hallam: Stretch + Sound, monthly class every third Wednesday 7 to 8pm.** Gentle, accessible movement, guided meditation, then a sound bath to finish. You leave feeling like you've actually rested, rather than just sat still.

And if you'd like something more energising, my **Sunday Vinyasa runs 10 to 11am**. It's breath-led movement to build strength, stability and calm.

Book your place here: https://coevolveyoga.simplybook.it/v2/
Or message me if you've any questions, I'm happy to help.

You don't have to lose weight to feel lighter.
Emma's been coming for four months: "friendly, welcoming... I've noticed real improvement in my mobility and strength. I always leave feeling much lighter."
We're opening 10 spots on a new monthly Stretch & Sound class, Wednesday 21 October. Link in my bio to book https://coevolveyoga.simplybook.it/v2/

Real quit signs aren't corporate.
They're physical. A pit in your stomach that won't go away. Holding your breath writing a difficult email. Dreading Monday by Sunday at 4pm. Running on empty, and still showing up.

I felt all of it myself on a cold platform, just after Christmas, caught on the hamster wheel without even noticing I was on it.

Not everyone needs to quit their job but everyone deserves to notice what their body's been telling them.
You have a choice. Find yours.

Next week we will see the autumn equinox when the light and dark are almost equal.

This year I noticed the trees began to drop their leaves early, after the hot summer they were shedding early to protect their survival.

I used to think holding onto everything was a strength. Now I know that’s not the case.

Doing less on purpose, what might you let go of before you’re forced to?

Here Sunday mornings 🍁see you on the mat
