Autumn inspections are underway 🐝🍂

At this time of year, one of the most important jobs is checking each colony and making sure our bees have enough honey stores to see them through the colder months. 🍯

Hive by hive, frame by frame — checking the colonies, their stores and getting everyone ready for winter.

The seasons may be changing, but there’s always work to do in the apiary.

She decided to keep me company while I worked, had a tiny lunch break 🍯 and then it was time to take her back home to the hive.

Bees collect plant resins and turn them into this incredibly sticky material, which they use around the hive to seal small gaps and help protect their home.
