The Reset Retreat- Day 2
As we woke from our slumber, we could hear the dawn chorus of the birds, the cockerel crowing good morning, the sun kissing the mountain tops and mist rolling in the valley.
We started the day in silence, collected a warm herbal tea from the kitchen & slowly made our way down to the ‘fire pit’ where we gathered for our women’s circle.
We arrived into the space, settled on a cushion, & allowed the mind to settle.
Carly guided the group through a short grounding session and introduction to breath work, followed by a group exercise called the ‘Web of Connectedness’. A ball of yarn, passed between each woman in the circle, giving them the opportunity to introduce themselves, before passing it onto the next, resulting in a visible interconnected web that links every person in the room, representing unity, a sacred, confidential container of trust and collective strength.
Caroline then introduced the topic of ‘Control and Flow’, the theme for our daily women’s circle, and how we acknowledge these not only in our Pilates practice but in our everyday lives.
After our women’s circle, we made our way up to the farmhouse as our nutritious and fulfilling breakfast was awaiting us, where we came together to eat & enjoy our meal.
Our tummies full, we then took a walk together on the famous Vale de Moses trail, up onto the mountainside where we could view from a different perspective. The air filled with the aroma of wild lavender, rock rose cistus and pine and you could hear the natural waters of the stream running down below us.
We then made our way to the Shala for our morning practice, lead by Carly.
Starting with some gentle stretches followed by an energising Pilates flow, connecting the mind, body and spirit.
Followed by another nutrient dense meal and then some free time for guests to just rest & relax, a chance to journal or read before Caroline’s class at 5:30pm.
We all met for Caroline’s class in the Shala where she guided the group through some more gentle Pilates movements, working on form and technicality.
Finishing the day with a light meal, so our bellies could rest through the night, then making our way to bed to gather the energy for the following day.
