Flow Yorkshire FLOW takes you from chaos to calm using a combination of science and ancient wisdom.

SWAY TESTING, dowsing with your body - asking your body questions is such a good insight into what’s going on - your body holds the score.

The wisdom we carry is in our bodies, not our brains. Our brains are used for thinking and working things out but if they dominate, we forget to listen to the body.

The body holds everything!

So, to dowse with your body and to ask it questions, what you need to do is …

Returning to school after the long summer break can feel like a big adjustment. 🎒

For some children, getting back into routines, early mornings, busy classrooms, social pressures and expectations can bring anxiety, overwhelm or exhaustion — even if they are looking forward to seeing their friends. 🌿

Sometimes these feelings show up as worry or tears, but they can also look like irritability, tummy aches, poor sleep, meltdowns or simply “I don’t want to go.” A little patience, predictability and understanding can go a long way while everyone finds their rhythm again. 💛

At FLOW Yorkshire, we support children, young people and their families through these periods of change. 🌱

Our gentle, individual approach focuses on helping to calm and regulate the nervous system, alongside talking therapies and wider support where appropriate. Whether you need someone to talk to, some guidance about what may be happening beneath the behaviour, or simply a place for your child to rest and reset, we’re here. Sometimes the first step is simply a conversation.

💚 Less surviving. More thriving.

As autumn approaches, Mother Earth offers us another kind of abundance. Hedgerows become heavy with elderberries and blackberries — small, jewel-like fruits waiting to be gathered, enjoyed and transformed into something nourishing. There is something wonderfully grounding about foraging: slowing down, noticing what is growing around us, collecting with our own hands and reconnecting with the simple rhythms that sustained generations before us.

Elderberries (which should be cooked before consumption) have traditionally been made into syrups, cordials and preserves and are naturally rich in plant compounds, including anthocyanins and other antioxidants.

Blackberries, too, are little nutritional powerhouses, providing vitamin C, vitamin K, fibre and protective polyphenols. Whether eaten straight from the hedgerow, added to a crumble, frozen for winter or made into jams and compotes, they remind us that nourishment doesn’t always need to come packaged or processed.

So perhaps this weekend, take a basket, wander slowly and see what nature has to offer. Pick only what you need, leave plenty for the birds and wildlife, and offer a quiet moment of gratitude to Mother Earth — for feeding us, sustaining us and reminding us that when we live in tune with the seasons, there is abundance all around us. 🌿🫐🍂

BACK TO SCHOOL ANXIETY 💙

For some children, going back to school is exciting.
For others, it can feel completely overwhelming.

Changes in routine, early mornings, busy classrooms, social pressures, sensory overload, academic expectations and simply not knowing what the new term will bring can all place extra demands on an already sensitive nervous system.

Anxiety may not always look like anxiety either.

It can show up as irritability, tummy aches, headaches, difficulty sleeping, meltdowns, withdrawal, tears, anger — or simply “I don’t want to go.”

At FLOW Yorkshire, we look beyond the behaviour and ask:

What might the nervous system be trying to tell us?

Through gentle, non-invasive therapies and a whole-person approach, we support children, young people and their families to better understand what may be driving overwhelm — and help create the conditions for greater calm, regulation and resilience.

💙 You don’t have to navigate it alone.

If back-to-school anxiety is affecting someone in your family, come and talk to us.

Sometimes, simply understanding what is happening and why can be the first step towards meaningful change.

As summer begins to soften into autumn, we take a moment to thank the trees that have quietly nourished and sheltered us through the warmer months. For their shade, their beauty, the oxygen we breathe and the gentle reminder that everything in nature has its own rhythm.

They ask for nothing, yet give so much.

Now, as the light begins to change and the first leaves prepare to fall, nature reminds us that change is not something to fear, but something to FLOW with. Autumn invites us to slow down, let go of what we no longer need and gently prepare for the season ahead — nourishing our bodies, supporting our nervous systems and creating a little more space for rest, reflection and renewal.

Just as the trees know when to grow, when to flourish and when to release, perhaps we can learn to listen to our own rhythms too. 🍂🌳

Ever notice a reaction in yourself that feels bigger than the moment calls for? Sometimes that’s not just you — it’s something carried down.

Trauma lives in the body as much as the mind. It shapes memory, stress response, even how safe we feel in our own skin. And often, it started with someone else, long before us.

At FLOW, we help you gently work through it — combining talking therapy, neuromodulation, PEMF, red light, tapping and meditation with the support of our affiliate practitioners.

You don’t have to carry it forward.
