donnaashworthwords has such an incredible way with words.

In her latest newsletter she sums up brilliantly the importance of nature and why we can gain so much solace from stepping out onto grass or into the woods. We need it because we are it!

I am loving how she is expanding her work from poetry to include her own meditations and philosophies, she has such a beautiful presence and every poem a present to help us think, to help us feel like we belong and to help us move forward gently with love and kindness

I might have also pre-ordered her latest book as a little birthday present to myself! Happy birthday to me!

Loving these weekly updates from Kirsty Gallagher.

This week is a powerful week with the full eclipse on Wednesday!

Such an incredible time for Woodland Mindfulness as we take steps to form our new community organisation, Bromley Empowering Voices - what a time to be evolving something special to support mental health and wellbeing!

Our final trustee has been appointed and I am so excited to be getting our Community Interest Organisation application in!

Keep moving forward! The bigger picture is forming!

This Monday I am so excited and blessed to be holding the very first exhibition of the wonderful work of my Art for Well-being community.

To have 16 people exhibiting a selection of their own pieces created during my Monday morning sessions at SJs and having these all on show (over 80 images altogether!) is just mind blowing and heart wrenching!

Each and every one of the group has been on a journey of self discovery, navigating the pathway of self doubt and criticism to allow themselves to gently peel away the layers to allow beautiful creativity to shine through.
This is their moment.

This Monday (13 July 10-11.30am at Shirley Library) is a celebration of each and every one of them:

Meet the Artists:
Ed, Anna, Colleen, Mary, Denise S, Denise, Ines, Peter, Chris, Louise, Marion, Paul, Elaine, Emma, Toni and (Gill)

Each person arrived at Art for Well-being with their own unique story, their personal journey of reaching out for support and wellbeing. They are not just individuals coming to paint, they have become a support network for each other and like extended family for all.

This will be even more poignant for me as we approach mum’s anniversary next week. She was a regular member of my class from the very beginning when it first started in 2023 and I am honoured to include a selection of her work in this exhibition in her memory. This is even more special as my dad, Peter (aged 91) will also be showing some of his work also created in the class. He is a well loved member of the group often entertaining other class members with his stories of local life growing up in wartime. Precious times in so many ways.

The exhibition continues at Shirley Library in Croydon until Friday 17 July.
