On Sunday 11th October I shall be running Self Hypnosis In a Day at the lovely Rookery Retreat Cabin

It's going to be a packed but relaxed day!

You will learn how to take yourself into a trance state and whilst in that state embed useful suggestions, and reorientate safely.

This is great for pain management, anticipatory anxiety, stress and insomnia to name a few things.

Price is Β£90 for a full day and the maximum number of attendees is six.

Message me asap on 07736 413314 to reserve your place πŸ’š

Here's a great article about how working with a hypnotherapist really can resolve longstanding issues.

While I don't use regression as a matter of course, I can use it to get to the bottom of persistent fears and anxieties.

I have great techniques in my toolkit for letting go of fears and phobias safely and swiftly

For a decade I lived with a fear so bad that I once tried to climb out of a tube carriage while it was in motion. Then a hypnotherapist told me to ask my parents one very important question

Today, 30th August is Grief Awareness Day

Grief crops up in my therapy room regularly, whether the client is there specifically to address it or not.

What are useful things to be aware of around grief?

πŸ–€It comes in many forms, and for other losses, not only death itself

πŸ–€There is no right way to do it, only your way to to do it. There's no right length of time either.

πŸ–€It isn't linear. (It isn't even the tidy curve we get trained in as therapists, though that is a useful tool!) It fluctuates and that's ok

We can help those around who are grieving by supporting them to talk- if they want to- and by making sure we respect the pace they are doing their grieving at, and the amount of unseen stuff at the bottom of the iceberg.

RIP Dolly Parton. Here's a great pearl of wisdom. Finding out who we are and doing it on purpose isn't for the faint hearted. I am thinking today about more ways I can show up as myself on purpose πŸ–€

did a project over the weekend. It was outside most of my skill sets. I particularly dislike working with fabric! No sewing, only upholstery tacks. I made a few mistakes, I would do it differently next time! It doesn't bear close examination but I prefer the fresh colours.

Here's the thing though. How often do we decide not to do things in case they go wrong, or aren't pefect?

Are we equating being good at something with enjoying doing it? What do we learn about ourselves if we only do what we are good at, and how much do we talk ourselves out of because we won't do it perfectly?

Perfectionism can hold us back, and be part of difficulties with procrastination and motivation.

What would you do if you had no fear of the results not being good enough? And whose standards are you using to measure that?

This chair will be my "chairdrobe" and only I need tp be satisfied with it! 🀣

This interesting study shows how important what we visualise and imagine is to our physical and mental health.

Hypnosis, as a state of focussed attention, is a great way of accelerating positive imagery to support pain reduction and better emotional outcomes.

You can learn how to do this for yourself, either with one to one sessions or by joining one of my courses. Links in the comments...

We usually think of bodily sensations as information the brain receives. What if the way we attend to those sensations can feed back and change the biological response itself?
