Learning Potion-Making at Elderglade School
~ Moonroot & Mirth
In Moonshade Hall where shadows play
The fairies mix their brews all day.
With bubbling flasks and crystal bowls
They follow recipes on ancient scrolls.
Miss Nettlebright, in cloak of green
Glides in with herbs both fresh and keen.
She taps her wand on bark and stone
To wake the spells in moss and bone.
They grind moon-root and stir in dew
Add beetle shells and thistle glue.
A twinkle here, a shimmer there
The air is thick with scented flair.
They test their brews then make a note
On petal pads with velvet coats.
Sometimes they giggle or maybe sneeze
Sending their magic on forest breeze.
Each fairy chants a rhyming spell
To make their potions fizz and swell
Some brew for flight, some brew for cheer -
One brews to help the mushrooms hear!
When all is done, they cork each flask
And tie it with a leaf and clasp.
For every fairy learns to brew
A drop of joy in every hue.
