My clients and I often talk about motivation and I wanted to dig deeper into the myths about it. We all have days when we feel more motivated. But did you notice that it never lasts?

Motivation lasts a week or two but to carry on with the action, be it exercise, eating certain things, routines, you need something more solid.

You need consistency, planning and prioritisation.

This goes back to my favourite topic: forming healthy habits.

Very common amongst mums: the evening is the only time you get for yourself when the kids are finally in bed.

Going early to bed doesn’t seem like an attractive option.

TV, a glass of wine, kitchen cleaning, life planning, Instagram scrolling = late nights. Followed by kids waking up at night and ruining your sleep.

You wake up tired.

Repeat.

Why getting quality zzz will make a huge difference in how you feel?

Because while you sleep:
😴Your body and mind recover. Daytime stress? Your body deals with it while you’re asleep.
🍲Your hunger, satiety and cravings regulate. Bad sleep = overeating.
🧘‍♀️Your body regulates your hormones. And hormones are responsible for your mood, energy and overall wellbeing.
😷Your immunity gets stronger. Yep, you can ditch your fancy supplements now.
🏃‍♀️You burn fat and build muscle. There is a reason why it’s called beauty sleep.

The dangers of walking past a toy store. Tantrums in public and negotiating with a toddler.

This happened the other day. I needed to grab a snack and unfortunately the store had a big display of toys.

After ages of negotiations I ended up buying the most overpriced bear. I suppose my negotiation skills with a toddler really suck.

The purchase of the bear gave Mila 10 minutes of happiness. Worth it? At that particular point - Yes! Long term strategy - definitely won’t work.

How many bears will end up buying while avoiding a tantrum?

Any other parents who can relate? Any tips on how to avoid tantrums and buying overpriced bears?
