Find drinking water a bit boring?

We all know plain water is the best way to stay hydrated but if you are not a fan, try adding some natural flavour, rather than sugary squash.
Fresh fruit, cucumber, mint or a slice of lemon can make it more refreshing. Experiment with your favourite fruit🍋🍓🥒

If your condition isn't life-threatening, there may be a faster and more appropriate service available to help you:

✅ Pharmacy – advice and treatment for minor illnesses
✅ GP or NHS 111 – when you need medical advice
✅ Urgent Treatment Centre – for urgent but non-emergency care

🚑 999 or A&E – only for serious emergencies

Choosing the right service helps keep ambulances available for those whose lives depend on them.

Active Dorset have been working with partners to improve the quality of health actions plans and information shared as part of the annual Learning Disability Health Checks.

A new action plan template has been developed based on feedback from members of People First Dorset, People First Forum and a primary care Learning Disability Champion to improve the usability of the action plan for people with a learning disability whilst also ensuring the action plan is easy to complete.

A review of Easy Read resources was also carried out.

Weymouth & Portland FREE Health Walks 🚶🚶‍♀️👣
Weymouth and Portland Health Walks offer regular opportunities for local people to stay active and enjoy the outdoors in a friendly, supportive environment.

The Weymouth walk takes place every Thursday morning, with an additional longer walk on the third Tuesday of each month, while the Portland walk is held every Monday morning from Easton Gardens.

All walks are led by trained volunteers, free, suitable for a range of abilities, and provide a great way to improve health, wellbeing and social connections.

A health walk is a free, short and regular guided walk that lasts between ten to ninety minutes for people of all abilities, especially for those who would like to get more active

Alcoholics Anonymous in West Dorset and North Dorset hold 31 AA meetings each week, covering Beaminster – Blandford – Bridport – Charmouth – Corfe Castle – Dorchester – Gillingham – Lyme Regis – Puddletown – Shaftsbury – Sherbourne – Sturminster Newton – Swanage – Weymouth – Wincanton and Online ZOOM.

Anyone who thinks they may have a drinking problem is very welcome to attend any of our meetings.

• ‘Closed’ meetings are for people who have a desire to stop drinking.
• Friends, family members, and others who do not have a drinking problem are welcome to attend ‘Open’ meetings.
