Q u i e t s t r e s s

Stress doesn’t always look like a racing heart, panic, shouting, burnout or feeling completely overwhelmed.

Sometimes it’s much quieter- feeling more irritable than usual, a mind that won’t switch off, waking up tired, despite having slept, feeling like there’s always another task to do.

Digestive changes. Tension. Restlessness. Poor sleep, can also be symptoms of stress.

The most concerning part, it can gradually become our new normal.

We can adapt to living in a heightened state of stress and forget what it feels like to genuinely slow down, and feel relaxed.

Our nervous system and our digestive system are deeply connected through the gut-brain axis - a complex, two-way communication network between the brain, gut and immune system.

Looking after our nervous system isn’t just about feeling calmer. It can form an important part of supporting whole body health and wellbeing. This is where creating space becomes important.

Reflexology can be one way of creating that space.

A reflexology treatment provides guaranteed time away from stimulation and demands, while the gentle touch promotes deep relaxation, and parasympathetic activation that can help you support lasting change.

Health isn’t just about what we eat or how much you exercise, It’s also about how often we allow our body to rest and recover.

If this sounds familiar, perhaps it’s time to create a little more space for yourself.

R e f l e x o l o g y f o r s t r e s s

Stress and anxiety are some of the most common concerns I see in clinical practice.

We all experience the pressures of life at times- busyness, overwhelm, tiredness, change and ill health. Our bodies are equipped to respond to short-term stress, but when stress becomes ongoing, it can begin to affect how we feel, sleep, digest and function day to day.

Have you noticed the connection between how you’re feeling and how your digestive system feels too?

Finding small moments of calm and restorative time can make a real difference. And it doesn’t have to be complicated. Even 5–10 minutes is a good place to start.

A walk in nature
Deep belly breaths
A quiet cup of tea
Bare feet on the grass
Listening to the birds
A relaxing bath
Getting lost in a favourite book
Getting lost in the present moment

And of course, reflexology can be a wonderful way to create deep relaxation and that guaranteed time for yourself.

Many clients describe feeling deeply relaxed and calmer after a treatment, that can flow into the days ahead.

If your body and mind are asking for a little more calm, create some space for yourself.

I love this recipe, it’s so simple to make and the flavours are delicious! I took inspiration from Gill Meller. I love his recipes and his passion for outdoor cooking.

Ingredients
Roughly 6-8 plums (depending on how many you are serving) halved
Dollop of good quality butter
Drizzle of honey
Rosemary (optional)

Place the plums in an oven proof dish, add all the other ingredients, place a lid on top. You can also wrap in foil ready for a fire - as Gill does.

Bake for roughly 20 minutes in a preheated (180) oven. Serve with mascarpone, crème fraîche or whatever you fancy!

It makes a delicious dessert or breakfast..

Enjoy! x

Many women choose to support their health before they’re actively trying to conceive because preparing the body beforehand can make a meaningful difference.

Through a combination of nutrition and reflexology, we can focus on creating the best possible foundation for your fertility journey.

Treatment plans are always personalised and may include supporting nutritional status, hormonal balance, promoting healthy menstrual cycles and ovulation, reducing stress, improving circulation and helping your body feel nourished and resilient as you prepare for pregnancy.

If you’d like to learn more, send me a DM or get in touch to book a call.

When was the last time you truly switched off? 🤍

Life can feel relentless at times. Endless to-do lists, constant notifications, work, family commitments, and a mind that never seems to stop thinking.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or simply running on empty, your body may be asking for a chance to slow down.

Reflexology is a wonderful way to create that space.

Many people find that regular treatments help to:
Calm the nervous system
Ease stress and muscular tension
Support more restful sleep
Encourage relaxation and emotional balance
Leave them feeling more grounded and re-energised

Sometimes the greatest gift is to give yourself one uninterrupted hour with nothing to do except rest.

If you’ve been putting yourself at the bottom of the list, perhaps this is your reminder that your wellbeing matters too.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I would love to support you on your journey to better health and balance.

Rebecca x
