June is Dysphagia Awareness Month! 💜
Living with swallowing difficulties shouldn’t mean losing the joy of food, the comfort of familiar flavours, or the beauty of a well-plated dish.
Today, we are showcasing how everyday favourites can be safely and beautifully transformed into IDDSI Level 4 (Pureed) masterpieces. Food is a massive part of our identity, culture, and daily comfort. When dysphagia hits, many people miss the simple pleasure of their favorite afternoon treats.
Our amazing kitchen team recreated these stunning, safe-to-swallow snacks and desserts:
🍰 The Deconstructed Jaffa Cake: Rich chocolate and bright orange glaze, perfectly smooth.
🍓 The Jammie Dodger: Reimagined with iconic piped detailing and sweet raspberry puree.
🍫 The Bourbon Biscuit: A chocolate classic, beautifully moulded to preserve that nostalgic look.
🍉 Fresh Fruit Salad: Vibrantly coloured, smooth fruit purees and shaped elements that bring the refreshing taste of summer safely to the plate. Dignity on a plate matters. Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), dietitians, and chefs work tirelessly to ensure that texture-modified diets are not just safe, but visually appealing and delicious.
