Debbie Thorley Therapies

Debbie Thorley Therapies Qualified Counsellor MBACP & MNCPS registered I also offer Supervision and have completed an accredited course in Creative Supervision.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an Accredited Registrant with the National Counselling Society (NCS) which are the associations for members of the counselling professions in the UK. The relationship between therapist and client is an important factor is facilitating change and I offer an environment that is non-judgemental, inclusive

and empathic. Over the years, I have worked with many different people of all ages from children through to older adults, from different backgrounds and cultures, each with their own individual experiences. I work with people who want to understand themselves on a deeper level, or who use therapy as an ongoing way to maintain their happiness and well-being. It is not always easy to face difficulties and find ways to resolve them, but I have worked with and seen people find ways to understand themselves in a d way that brings about the changes which then lead to more positive, fulfilled and interesting ways of living. The therapeutic process can help you to grow in times of anxiety and mental stress and become a stronger version of yourself. I have studied many differing modalities over the years, and now use an approach that includes aspects of these within my practice including solution focused, trauma informed, brief solution focused, with maintaining a person centred approach at the heart of all I do, putting the person at the centre of the therapeutic journey. It's natural to feel apprehensive or uncertain about what to expect from therapy if you haven't been before. I will provide a welcoming and non-judgemental environment for us to explore together what you feel and look at how this is negatively impacting your life which will then support you to work towards feeling happier and more fulfilled.

Hello lovely souls πŸ’›

As there are lots of new faces here, I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself.

I'm Rho, the heart behind Heartstrings and Forget Me Not Holistic Therapies.

I live in the small village of Pica on the edge of Workington, in the beautiful West Cumbrian countryside with my cat Smudge, and Norman, my mischievous Cockerpoo who keeps life interesting! I'm also mum to two wonderful grown-up children.

My journey into holistic therapies wasn't something I planned. It began during one of the most difficult times in my life after losing my partner, Ken, to oesophageal cancer. During my grief, I was offered Reiki through Hospice at Home West Cumbria. The comfort, peace and healing I experienced planted a seed that would quietly grow into the work I do today.

What began with Reiki became a calling. Since then I have trained as a Reiki Master Teacher, Access Bars Practitioner, Meditation Teacher, Reflexologist, Wellbeing Coach, Angelic Reiki Practitioner, Holy Fire Reiki Practitioner and Hopi Ear Candling Practitioner. I continue to learn and grow because I believe we never stop evolving, both personally and professionally.

My therapy room is a peaceful space overlooking rolling countryside, but more importantly it is a space where you can simply be yourself. A space free from judgement. A space where you can exhale, feel heard, feel supported and reconnect with yourself.

Alongside my therapies, I hold meditation classes, women's circles and retreats. These gatherings have become some of my favourite moments, bringing together like-minded souls to pause, reflect, heal and remember that we are not alone on this journey.

My work is deeply rooted in my own wellbeing practices. I live with Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia, so I understand the importance of caring for ourselves physically, emotionally and spiritually. Meditation, Reiki, homeopathy, massage and gentle movement all help me to find balance, and I love sharing these tools with others.

At the heart of everything I do is connection. I believe that sometimes the greatest healing begins when someone feels truly seen, heard and cared for.

Whether you've been following my journey for a while or have only just found this page, thank you for being here. Your support means more than you know, and I feel honoured to walk alongside so many wonderful people on their own paths of healing, growth and self-discovery.

My hope is that everyone who walks through my door leaves feeling a little lighter, a little calmer, and a little more connected to themselves than when they arrived.✨

With much love,

Rho πŸ’›βœ¨οΈxx
