Some announcements mean a little more than others… and this one has a very special place in my heart. 🥹🤍
I am SO excited, honoured and incredibly proud to finally announce that I am halfway through my Cleft Lip Masterclass with the amazing Lyndsey Owens. 🫶🏼
For me, aesthetics has never been about putting a little filler here and there.
It's about the young mum who wants to feel like herself again after having her baby.
The grandmother who has undergone an incredible weight loss journey but no longer recognises the woman looking back at her.
The mature lady who just wants to look in the mirror and see the woman she's always known.
And now, it's about something that means even more to me. The cleft community. 🤍
There's a little girl whose mum is one of my clients. She was born with a cleft lip, and her mum has asked me on more than one occasion when she'll be old enough to have her lips treated, hoping that one day she might have the option of achieving the shape and symmetry she'd love.
And every time, my answer has been the same…
"I'm so sorry, lovely. It's not something I'm qualified to treat."
Until one day, I decided I didn't want that to be my answer forever.
I wanted to be able to say, "One day, when you're older, if it's something you still want, I hope I can help you explore those options."
That conversation stayed with me.
Because for some people, lip filler is simply about adding volume.
But for someone born with a cleft lip, specialist aesthetic treatment may offer the opportunity to address asymmetry, improve lip definition or complement the results of previous reconstructive surgery.
And whilst I know that no treatment can erase someone's journey, and not everybody with a cleft lip wants or needs treatment, I want those who do wish to explore their options to feel heard, understood and supported.
Your cleft does not define your beauty. And you should never feel that you need to change it to be beautiful. 🤍
But if making a change is something you choose for yourself, I believe you deserve access to practitioners who understand the complexities of cleft anatomy and approach your treatment with the care and respect it deserves.
Living in Cumbria, I've recognised how difficult it can be to find practitioners offering this specialist service locally. I want to help change that.
I'm still on my learning journey, and I have further training and competency assessments to complete before I can offer these treatments. But I couldn't wait to share this milestone with you all.
This isn't about adding another treatment to my price list.
It's about giving people more choice, more understanding and the opportunity to feel confident in their own skin, on their own terms.
To the cleft community, I hope to create a space where you're listened to, where your individual journey is respected and where you never feel that your appearance needs fixing.
And to Lyndsey Owens, thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping me take this next step in my career.
This is so much bigger than aesthetics to me.
And I genuinely cannot wait to see where this journey takes me. 🥹🤍
