It’s , and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the people who make a difference in our clinic every day.

You might have noticed a new face around here lately - and a familiar name! We’ve recently welcomed our apprentice, Adam, to the team. He’s currently on a two-year journey to become a qualified Hearing Aid Dispenser.

Adam is already busy helping clients with wax removal and is picking up new clinical skills every week. Having "Adam number two" on board means we can offer more appointments and a fresh perspective, all while maintaining the high standard of care you expect from us.

A career in hearing healthcare is all about care, expertise, and making a real impact on people's lives. We’re really proud to support the next generation of professionals right here in Whitstable.

Next time you’re in the clinic, be sure to say hello!

Tinnitus can feel like it’s taken away the things you love most. For Louise, a singer and songwriter, it meant stepping away from music for years as she struggled with the stress and isolation that often comes with a diagnosis.

We are so proud to share her story. Louise eventually found her way back to the stage, recently releasing her solo album, "Love Is the Bridge." Our own Adam Chell has been by her side as both her audiologist and friend, helping her run support groups and even measuring sound levels at her launch to ensure everything stayed at a safe volume.

Louise’s journey is a powerful reminder that there is hope and a way forward. As she says, being with people who "get it" is vital.

At Whitstable Hearing, we don’t just look at the clinical side of tinnitus; we care about the person behind it. If you’re feeling isolated or unsure how to navigate your own "new path," we are here to listen and support you.

When she first got tinnitus, Louise thought she would never listen to music again. Now, she's released a solo album.

Tinnitus Awareness Week may be over, but support doesn’t stop.

Tinnitus is deeply personal - no two people experience it in exactly the same way. That’s why a "one size fits all" approach rarely works when you're looking for relief.

As an independent clinic, we focus on time and trust. We take the time to understand how hearing loss or tinnitus is affecting your specific day-to-day life, so we can find the right tools and strategies for you.

Support is closer than you think. If you’re ready to talk about your hearing, book a hearing test at our friendly clinic today.

The hearing assessments we provide are of the highest quality. During our informative consultation, we’ll get to know you and hear your needs.

Our lead audiologist, Adam Chell, recently visited the House of Lords to celebrate the launch of Tinnitus UK’s new report, "Amplifying Awareness."

The report, presented by Anne Savage and Sonja Jones, highlights a serious issue: 92% of fans experience tinnitus after live music events, and nearly 1 in 5 people now live with permanent hearing loss. It’s a reminder that while we all love live music, hearing damage is often preventable.

At Whitstable Hearing, we see firsthand how much tinnitus affects daily life. Adam’s involvement in this launch reflects our commitment to staying at the forefront of tinnitus support and prevention. Whether you’re a musician, a regular concert-goer, or someone already living with tinnitus, we are here to help you manage your hearing health and protect it for the future.

If you’re worried about your hearing or want to chat about protection that doesn't ruin the music, get in touch with us.

As Tinnitus Awareness Week comes to a close, we want to acknowledge everyone who lives with tinnitus - whether it’s something you experience occasionally, daily, or quietly manage without telling others.

Tinnitus can be frustrating, exhausting and, at times, isolating. But understanding it and knowing where to turn can make a meaningful difference.

Myth: If I ignore tinnitus, it will eventually go away.

Fact: While tinnitus may settle for some people, many benefit from learning about it earlier. Support isn’t about focusing on tinnitus, it’s about helping it take up less space in your life.

If tinnitus is affecting your wellbeing, sleep or concentration, we’d encourage you to reach out. A simple conversation can be the first step towards feeling more in control.

Myth: Tinnitus will always get worse over time.

Fact: For many people, tinnitus stays the same or becomes less intrusive as the brain adapts - especially with the right guidance and coping strategies.

Support is about helping tinnitus take up less space in your day-to-day life.

If tinnitus feels overwhelming at times, gentle, expert-led support can make a real difference.

Myth: Tinnitus is psychological or imaginary.

Fact: Tinnitus is a genuine neurological and auditory experience. While stress and anxiety can influence how noticeable it feels, the sound itself is very real.

Acknowledging tinnitus, rather than dismissing it, is an important part of learning how to live well with it.

If you’ve ever felt your experience was minimised, know that support starts with being heard.

Myth: Tinnitus means something is seriously wrong with my health.

Fact: In the vast majority of cases, tinnitus is not a sign of a serious medical condition, although it can understandably feel worrying.

Learning what’s causing your tinnitus and what isn’t often reduces anxiety, which itself can make symptoms feel more manageable.

If tinnitus has been causing concern or uncertainty, a professional conversation can be very reassuring.

Myth: Tinnitus only affects people with severe hearing loss.

Fact: Tinnitus can occur with or without measurable hearing loss, and affects people of all ages.

For some, tinnitus is the first sign that the auditory system needs attention - which is why early assessment can be helpful, even if your hearing feels ‘normal’.

Getting personalised advice can bring reassurance and clarity. Get in touch if you would like to speak with someone about your concerns.

Myth: There’s nothing that can help tinnitus.

Fact: Many people find significant relief through education, sound therapy, coping strategies and peer support.

That’s why this afternoon (Tuesday 3rd February) we’re holding our Tinnitus Support Group at Whitstable Hearing.

Our group offers a welcoming, judgement-free space to connect with others who share similar experiences. Led by expert audiologist Adam Chell, sessions include practical coping tools and end with a calming guided mindfulness exercise to help manage stress, sleep issues and anxiety linked to tinnitus.
