Treatment is gentle and relaxing, given over light clothing, and

carried out at a relaxed, focused pace. Bowen enables the body to rebalance, reset and restore function through a series of gently-rolling connective-tissue moves. These moves are made by thumb and fingertips on precise points on the body. We often find that the place of pain may not necessarily be the primary source of dysfunction. Most common simple ailments are generally resolved within a few treatments. Chronic (long term) conditions may take a little longer, dependent on each individual case. BOWEN HAS BEEN OBSERVED TO WITH:-
pain management
muscular and skeletal pain
sports injuries
nerve pain
fibromyalgia
hyper-mobility syndrome
chronic fatigue
headaches and migraines
asthma, allergies
hay fever
stress and tension
sleep problems
digestive issues
hormone imbalance
fertility
pregnancy
new borns
whiplash

ADDED BENEFITS OF TREATMENT are improved sleep quality, increased energy, improved concentration and focus, overall relaxation and a more positive outlook on life. ATHLETES & PERFORMING ARTISTS are discovering that regular Bowen treatment enhances performance and reduces the incidence of injury. When injury does occur, especially soft tissue damage, Bowen can bring rapid relief and a quick return to practice. WHAT IS FASCIA
Fascia is EVERYWHERE! Controlling everything, forming our body, keeping everything in place. Fascia is a highly resilient, responsive, opaque, connective tissue primarily made of collagen. The fascia is a body wide system which lies beneath the skin attaching, stabilising, enveloping and separating every muscle and organ. FASCIA & NERVOUS SYSTEM
The fascia and the nervous system are two separate entities but work together as an integrated whole. Bowen treatment, through gentle pressure on fascia, communicates to the nervous system that there is no longer any need for increased tension in that area. So, by influencing deeply held tensions in one part of the body, we begin to initiate a cascading effect of unraveling and releasing of tensions in other parts of the body and also in the mind. SELINA FIRTH, Bowen Therapist
Selina is a qualified and experienced Bowen therapist and has been treating clients since 2011. Her Whitstable clinics are busy treating people of all ages, from babies to elders, addressing a wide range of health issues. She often runs clinics in London and Hastings and regularly attends post-graduate courses to deepen her understanding of Bowen therapy and the emerging science of Fascia. SELINA PROVIDES MSTR® - McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release. MSTR®
McLoughlin Scar Release is effective on all kinds of scarring,
for example..
▪️ C-sections
▪️ Hysterectomy
▪️ Mastectomy
▪️ Spinal surgery
▪️ Head wound scars
▪️ Amputation
▪️ Underlying scar tissue from laparoscopic surgery
▪️ Internal scarring eg hamstring tears

McLoughlin Scar Release is extremely gentle,
with no deep pressure or friction,
Which can..
✅ Change the appearance and texture of the scar
✅ Bring you out of discomfort
✅ Regain range of movement, that scarring had previously tethered down
✅ Help increase lymphatic flow
✅ Also have a big effect on the nervous system linked to other problems

Did you know? Un-resolving back pain can often be caused by abdominal scarring. If a client has back pain and has had abdominal surgery, I work with MSTR firstly. I can then see what residual tensions remain, and where necessary, proceed with Bowen fascial release. Notice: Bowen Therapy is not intended as a substitute for medical advice or treatment. If in doubt please seek medical advice from your Doctor.

Ram Dass often said, “We’re all just walking each other home.” At the heart of his teachings is the reminder that connection - with another soul, with your own heart, with presence - is what dissolves fear, loneliness, and the illusion of separateness

Today marks 78 years since the Nakba—a catastrophe that, The Nation’s Huda Skaik remarked, never ended.

On Nakba Day 2024, Mohammed el-Kurd reflected on a stunning collection of photos: “Before conjuring the ability to write a few coherent paragraphs prefacing these photos, all I could think while flipping through them was: What have they done to you? What have they done to Palestine? I was struck by the images of Palestine before the walls and the colonies and the checkpoints clogged its arteries; images captured between towns and villages, now separated by concrete barriers and worlds apart, that were once intertwined socially and economically. Our eyes seldom encounter Palestine before the Israeli regime, a Palestine defined not by its ailments but by its industries and cultures.

Yet it is important to resist the urge to romanticize that era. One must situate these photographs within the proper socioeconomic context and ask about what is not represented in these images: Who had access to cameras? Who was behind those cameras? What can be said of those who lived far from the flashbulbs and tape recorders? Where do we look for their fossilized legacies? The tessella of beautiful, unseen photographs that forms as you turn these pages is as illuminating as it is incomplete. There are many conversations we should be having with our grandparents, at their dinner tables, before their deathbeds, and even more work to do if we are to ensure that the victims and resisters of the present-day Nakba aren’t merely acknowledged in fleeting headlines.

These photos, along with the many others that appear in Against Erasure: A Photographic Memory of Palestine Before the Nakba, reaffirm that Palestine’s history does not begin in fleeing. Not only do they defy the brutal revisionism on the part of the empires and mercenaries seeking to vanquish us; they also disrupt the engineered cultural and political mystification of the Nakba that has, for generations, made its undoing seem impossibly remote.” Read more at the link: https://www.thenation.com/article/world/palestine-before-the-nakba/

Repost from and dearest Toni Morrison
“Sometimes you don’t survive whole you just survive in part. But the grandeur of life is that attempt. It’s not about that solution. It is about being as fearless as one can, and behaving as beautifully as one can under completely impossible circumstances.” 🤍

WATER AS THE BRIDGE

Reposted with thanks, from .catherineclinton

Researchers propose that life starts with frequency and it is water that is the bridge between frequency and matter.

Researchers like Dirk Meijer and Hans Geesink analyzed hundreds of electromagnetic frequencies found in water and have found incredible insights into life.

These models propose that water organizes into coherent patterns that mirror those found throughout living systems like DNA, cells and proteins.

There is a different way of seeing the body
as a resonant system shaped by pattern, rhythm, and relationship.

We are still at the beginning of understanding this but it changes the way we approach health and healing.

This is what we explore, embody and practice through fascia, nervous system resonance, water and frequency in the Coherence Collective.
