Recently diagnosed with diabetes and feeling overwhelmed? 💙

A new diagnosis can bring lots of questions, worries and uncertainty. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

We’re holding Diabetes Support Sessions where you can drop in for friendly, informal support and advice.

📅 Tuesday 15th September | 9.15am–12.30pm
📅 Thursday 24th September | 12.15pm–3.30pm

The sessions are open to people who have recently been diagnosed with diabetes and may be unsure about what to do next, as well as anyone living with diabetes who would like to come along and chat.

We can talk about:
🥗 Eating well with diabetes
❤️ Looking after your overall health
🧠 Your mental wellbeing
🩺 The importance of regular health checks
💬 Any questions or concerns you may have

There’s no need to feel like you have to manage everything alone. Come along, have a chat and get the support you need. 💙

🌾🍎 HARVEST FESTIVAL 2026 🍎🌾

As autumn approaches, we’re launching our Harvest Festival 2026 collection in support of St James’ Food Pantry on Poolstock Lane. ❤️

St James’ Food Pantry does an amazing job supporting local people and those experiencing homelessness, helping to make sure people in our community have access to essential food and supplies.

This Harvest Festival, we’d love your help to fill our collection points with donations and make a real difference to those who need a little extra support. 🥫🥫❤️

🛍️ WHAT CAN YOU DONATE?
Any non-perishable food items would be greatly appreciated, such as:
🥫 Tinned vegetables, fruit, soup & beans
🍝 Pasta & rice
🥣 Cereals
🫙 Tinned & jarred foods
☕ Tea, coffee & hot chocolate
🍪 Biscuits & other cupboard essentials

💜𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛 💜

This month, let’s help spread the word about the signs to look out for and remind people that if something doesn’t feel right, it’s important to get it checked

🦋 𝗧𝗵𝘆𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 🦋
Let’s raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of thyroid cancer, encourage people to listen to their bodies, and remind everyone that early detection can make a difference.

Some possible signs and symptoms can include:

• A lump or swelling in the neck
• A swelling or lump that gets bigger
• A persistent hoarse voice or changes to your voice
• Difficulty swallowing or breathing
• Persistent pain or pressure in the neck or throat
• Swollen glands in the neck

🌟 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀🌟
Every child deserves the chance to grow, dream and make memories. This month, we stand with children and families affected by cancer, remember those we have lost, and celebrate the strength of survivors.

• An unexplained lump or swelling
• Unusual or persistent tiredness or lack of energy
• Unexplained bruising or bleeding
• Persistent or unexplained pain, including headaches or bone/joint pain
• Frequent or persistent infections or fevers
• Unexplained weight loss or loss of appetite
• Persistent vomiting, particularly alongside headaches
• A pale appearance or unusual paleness

This September, let’s talk, share, educate and support. Even a simple post can help someone recognise a symptom, seek medical advice, or remind a family that they are not alone. 💛

This Sunday, some of our amazing staff will be taking on the Wigan 10K and they’re doing it to raise money for a great cause! 💙

We’re incredibly proud of the team for putting in the training, getting out there and taking on the challenge. 💪

We’ve already reached 67% of our fundraising target, which is fantastic but we’d love to get all the way to 100% before race day! 🙌

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us get closer to our goal and means so much to our staff taking part.

We’re running together to raise money and awareness for two very important charities:

💚 Samaritans – supporting people who are struggling and providing a listening ear when it’s needed most.

💛 Survivors of Bereavement by Su***de (SoBS) – supporting people who have lost someone to su***de and helping them through an incredibly difficult time.
