🎒 We hope everyone has had a positive start to the new school year!
Pictured is Oliver, who is working with Independent Travel Trainer Shaun as part of our Travel Training Programme. Together, they’re building Oliver’s confidence and skills so he can make the journey to school independently. 🌟

We’re so proud of the progress Oliver is making and love seeing the difference that independent travel can make to a young person’s confidence and independence.

Struggling with sleep routines at home? You’re not alone.

Join our GPS (Guided Personalised Support) in-person workshop focused on navigating sleep issues for families of neurodivergent children and young people.

When: Tuesday 8th September, 10:00am – 12 midday

Where: Hindley Family Hub, Mornington Road, Hindley

Cost: Free — no need to book, just turn up on the day!

What the session covers:

We’ll focus on the three biggest daily challenges:

Getting to sleep (winding down and settling)

Staying asleep (night waking and restlessness)

Getting up in the morning (transitioning into the day)

Advice, insight, and discussion on:

Why sleep matters and the specific difficulties linked with neurodivergence

Understanding that "the right amount of sleep" is different for everyone

Circadian rhythms and how predictable routines support internal clocks

Sensory processing and chemical roles in sleep (including serotonin and melatonin)

Practical, workable strategies for bedtime, overnight, and morning routines

General sleep facts, myth-busting, and handy tips

Whether you have specific questions or just want to pick up a few practical ideas in an informal, supportive space, we’d love to see you there.

This is a 2 hour session

A little trip down memory lane! ☕✨

Back in 2008, Alison from our Children’s Team teamed up with her friend Maria to support the national Autism Mothers campaign featured in The Autism File magazine—championing parent support, connection, and raising vital awareness.

Fast forward to today, and the connection runs just as deep: Maria happens to be the wife of Andy, who also works alongside Alison on our Children’s Team!

At Embrace, we truly believe in the power of families supporting families. It’s what drives our ethos, builds lasting community networks, and shapes the work we do every single day. Seeing these two families still connected and working side by side all these years later to make a difference in our community is a wonderful reminder of how strong our shared journeys really are.

Here’s to the power of lasting friendships, peer support, and working together for our families! 💜
