Hair thinning? Letâs talk regeneration.
August is Hair Loss Awareness Month, and this is one of my favourite regenerative treatments to perform in clinic.
Here Iâm using PRF alongside polynucleotides as part of a personalised approach to scalp and hair health.
Although Iâm treating a male patient in this Reel, hair thinning and hair loss certainly isnât just a male concern.
Women can experience it too, particularly around hormonal changes and menopause. Genetics, stress and repeated tension from things such as hair extensions or tight hairstyles can all play a part.
PRF is prepared from your own blood and contains platelets, fibrin and growth factors. Combined with polynucleotides, the aim is to support the scalp environment and encourage the natural processes involved in healthier hair growth.
This can also be combined with specialised at home products available from clinic, helping to support healthy hair growth and maintain a healthy scalp between treatments. After all, your scalp is skin too, and looking after the environment your hair grows from is just as important.
Hair loss is never one size fits all, though. There can be many reasons behind changes in your hair, and sometimes medical investigation is needed before considering treatment.
If youâve noticed more shedding, a widening parting, a receding hairline or your hair simply doesnât feel as thick as it used to, itâs worth having a conversation about it.
Hair loss can affect anyone, and you donât have to wait until it becomes significant before looking into why.
